For me one cup is enough, but when i am really hungry and tired and the food that I will eat with rice really taste good then I end up eating 2 and a half cups of rice hahaha. When the food also is some how hot or peppery I also end up eating a cup and a half. But I dont eat that much during dinners, I can only eat that much on breakfast or lunch. Sometimes we eat out on buffet and I end up eating two cups of rice.

Wow that would be a lot but I guess when we are really hungry there is no way that we will stop until we get really satisfied. what is your favorite food that goes with rice? I saw that we are both from the Philippines and so I guess we both enjoy eating sinigang or adobo.

I'm with you, Redhornet. I can eat up to 3 on a close-to-empty stomach. I workout a LOT, so I don't feel so bad about it. lol

i cup of rice is 15 grams of carbs, white rice has higher percentage of carbs and high glycemic index, to keep me fit i watch carefully my rice intake especially white rice, one cup to me is feast so ionly take 3-4 tablespoon of rice every meal, here's my advise to you yellow bell, it's ok to eat more than one cup of rice if your not keeping yourself fit but drink water only after 30 minutes or an hour...to avoid bloated feeling, i hope your not gulping some soda

I try to keep myself fit as possible so i do a few exercises. my mom is eating brown rice and told me to switch eating the brown than the white but i have two kids they need the carb.... growing children

i can only finish 1/2 cup of rice, the recommended one serving. a lot of people believe that one serving of rice is one cup but that is 2 servings already and if you're a usual rice eater: 3 times a day with a cup that means 6 servings of carbohydrates already which is the recommended amount to be eaten by normal people everyday. that means no more cookies, bread, or root crops for they're carbohydrates as well. otherwise you're in for a bigger waistline. maybe not now when you're younger but once meatabolism slows down with age which usually starts at 26 and this is the usual eating pattern you're in for the slimmest 30 inch waistline in the long run. no offense.

we all have different metabolism so i guess that does not apply to everybody. different people have different body structure. if you are small then maybe this is normal to you. if you perspire a lot then there is no worry that you can burnall of that. i am not speaking of waistline here but intake of rice. though i mysef does not eat rice during dinner for i know i can not burn that ike what i ate during lunch.

i dont think that they dont like rice, i think they just like bread more. they were brought up to eat more bread than rice so they eat more of bread. thats what i think of that. like us asian we are brought to eat more rice than bread but we eat bread too. i lunch will not be complete without rice i feel like completely full if i dont eat rice. but bread during dinner is okay.

We don't really eat a lot of rice. I will fix it with dinner sometimes. When I do fix it I can eat 1/2 a cup or a cup. Just depends on how much I want and what we are having with it. I don't remember ever eating rice for breakfast and I usually don't make it for lunch. For lunch we usually have sandwiches or mac/cheese or something simple like that.

I think more people from asia eats rice and other parts of the world eats bread more. Some people does not get full if they eat only bread so they tend to eat rice. It is fun to read other cultures responses like youre. very educational for me. thank you

I could rarely eat more than one cup of rice. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite meals, I get at The Texas Roadhouse, it is beef tips and gravy served with a salad and an order of seasoned rice. The rice is really good, but I can never finish all of the food that they give me.
On occasion, if I am not hungry, or just not in the mood for steak. I will just order the side dish of the seasoned rice and the gravy. This tastes great, and it will fill me up in a heartbeat.
I very rarely eat rice any other time. Although, there is one frozen meal that is fairly inexpensive that I get about once every couple of months or so. It is a bit similar, except it is the Chinese version. It also contains rice, steak and gravy. In addition, it has some broccoli in it. It comes in a little box, and you can either heat it in the microwave or put it on the stove. I think it is a meal made for one person, but my boyfriend and I usually share it and sometimes still have some leftover.

Chinese fooods are hard to resist as well. Chinese rice has different flavors plustheir dimsum and dumplings are a wow factor that is so good to eat rice with. I love eating garlic rice and I guess I can eat two cups of that. But mostly we cook rice at home and cook the meal that goes with the rice. we eat cornedbeef with rice and it is good.

Probably not that many I find rice to be very filling and satisfying. I would say the most I ever at at one time is 2 cups. But I can not say for sure. I don't really measure it when I eat it. If rice were all I was eating then I could probably eat two cups. But if I was eating anything else to I probably could not eat more than a cup.

Hi Yellow,
As much as possible I try to stick to the 1 cup rice limit I had set for myself, but when I'm at a party, or when I eat out with friends, I tend to eat more. Specially when it's "eat-all-you-can", I get so excited with the variety of foods available. I can't eat pork, chicken, beef or even veggies without rice, so the more I eat these dishes, the more rice I consume. Welcome to myLot!

I agree with that dory, that when we eat out or with friends we tend to eat more. Taking with them while eating increases the urge to take more or sometimes we can no longer control the intake for we are having fun. Agree also regadring eat-all you can hahaha, if there are a lot of choice and hard to find foods or a certaindish thatyou havent tsted for a long time it will be hard to control.

So migth as well have a cup and a half than hearing someting from her. Rice can makes us fat and the sugar that rice has can affect our health. Is that the reason why she gets angry when you get more than a cup and a half? Its really hard to control the intake of rice when the dish that goes with it is appetizing. I do understand that. Thats the same reason I have when i eat more rice than the usual
