Whoop woo I picked up our brand new car what 4 hours or so ago and so the boys wanted me to give it a bit of drive around. So I thought, I know, we'll go and visit my friend in a neighbouring town about 9 miles away! En route I called out to the boys to see if they are all ok and one didn't answer. I looked in the mirror to see if I could see what was up and he looked incredibley pale - sickly pale you might say. 'Oh no, are you going to be sick'? I shouted to him. With his hand over his mouth he nodded his head. His brother told him to swallow it, not very helpful I must say and that even made me feel queasy!! I managed to pull over in a safe place and pulled the poor child from the car - just in time!! My dear life we had only had the car 30 mins!! Where is the most inconvenient place you have thrown up?

Whoo a new car. What type is it? A racy Ferrari I'll be bound. But yikes. That was a close run thing Humbug. I'm not allowed to say who it was but a close family member once leaned out of the car window after a particularly alcofrolic party and was sick all the way past the Whitechapel Hospital in London. Not a pretty experience as half of it was blown back in by the wind! Said person was too distracted to notice the damage done. I spent an unpleasant morning the following day washing and hoovering etc. Another one managed to greet Minehead once in a similar fashion. Only this time thoughtfully contained her "offering" to the back seat of the car. Nice!

Hi ya p1kef1sh Nah not a Ferrari, I don't think I could afford the petrol for that sort of car let alone the insurance! LOL It's a Vauxhall Agila in metalic steel (apparantly). Chucking up through a window is never usually a good idea somehow if the car is still in motion!! Not that I know through my own experience rather someone elses!! Thanks

Oh my gosh! Im so glad he didnt puke int he car! Congrats on the new car by the way. I hope your son feels better. I'd say the most inconvenient would be when I was a kid in the middle of class. Puking over the side of your desk is mighty embarrassing. And then, of course, it's splatters. So it hits another kid who then screams out how gross it is. Ugh

Hi ya menolly22 Thanks, the car is great and my son was feeling much better after emptying his stomache. The thing is that he does suffer from travel sickness but we had travelled 2 hours the other day without him puking at all so I thought 20 minutes in the car would be pretty safe!! I was going to go back to the house to get the buckets but my eldest, the one that told the other one to swallow it, didn't want to, he was too excited and just wanted to get on the road. Maybe that is why he made the suggestion to his brother because he was the one to say not to go the house to get the bucket!! LOL Thanks

I'm reading this just as I'm about to order our dinner for tonight. I'll think I'll wait a bit now. Well I'm glad you didn't have that mess to deal with in your brand new car. I hope your son feels better. The most embarassing and inconvenient place I've gotten "sick" was on the airplane going to the Bahamas for my honeymoon. I was so nervous and worried about the flight that I totally tossed my cookies a half hour into the flight. Thank goodness I had a change of clothing in my carry on bag.

You're right, this is no space in the bathroom on the plane. Not to mention I forgot to lock the bathroom door and as I was standing in my underwear trying to change my messed up clothes, a man opened the door on me.

Hi ya Shar19 I too am glad I didn't have the mess to clean up especially as I don't have the equipment to do a really good job of it either. Eww being sick on an airplane is no fun either as there is not much space in those toilets are there? Thanks

That was a close call for sure, well at least everything turned out ok for both your child and your new car. you asked where's the most inconvenient place that I've been sick I would have to say in bed while sleeping is the most inconvenient place to be sick ew just the thought of it is grossing me out because there's nothing more gross to wake up to eww.

Yes it truly was gross, it happened when I was a little girl it was some sort of food poisoning, from a burger restaurant, but thankfully my mother and father took good care of me and I got better.

Congratulations on the new car humbug! I am so glad that your son did not Christen it. Where have I thrown up? Now let me see: Before exams during exams after exams if pregnant - 24/7 and all over th place from bed to outside - just about anywhere. Threw up as I was having a baby every time - during LABOUR on the side of the road in the bushes on he side of the road in full view of people on the side of the road if I am nervous or scared when children were having c=vaccinations when children were having skin sutured - then I also fainted. Can't think of anything else right now. Oh yes, in many cars too!

Wow, you're really a lightweight when it comes to throwing up aren't you? My husband has a cousin that used to throw up whenever someone would just mention the word. Now that's weird.

He he he, i have my own motorcycle now, no more being stacked like sardine, no more waiting time for another passenger, and no more bio hazard from all the stench of other passenger, my transportation motto now is "if i can't travel it with my bike, i'd rather not travel at all."

Hiya dear friend! Ewwww that's nasty, yuk! Bless him, I hope that wasn't an unconscious response to your new car! Thankfully you timed it right! I was in stitches about your other son saying swallow it, out of mouths of babes eh! Thanks for making me smile. The most inconvenient place for me was when I was actually at Primary school but not as a child, but as a student as a TA, it may be something I had eaten, not from the canteen I hasten to add but I was green, so I had to rush out of the class and fortunately I managed to get to the gents in time, and boy did it well I'll leave it there. I felt embarrassed at the time, but fortunately I did manage to get to the right place in time, imagine doing it in the classroom OMG! I'd never live that down and the stories the children would have told their parents, you can imagine!!!!!

Congratulations for your new car. I hope that you are happy with it. Happy Safe Driving! Well the most inconvenient place where I threw up was in my fiancee's car. We had been dating just for a few days and after having a meal she started tickling me. Now that is the most things that I hate and she managed to make my stomach upset. And voila.........Despite not impressing her at all... she is still with me or I am still with her to the present date.

hi humbug25 oh this happened about five or six years back I had a typewriter that took an odd ribbon and had hunted 'all over the county and took several buses. so I was hungry and stopped in a Jack In The Box and had a hamburger. By the time I got back to Tustin I was horribly nauseated and got off the bus. Right by the bus stop; shelter in the' gutter I threw up, I mean I really did. the lady sitting on the shelter bench looked at me, and said, serves you right you old drunk. I said, no I am not drunk, you misjudged'me, I just had a hamburger and I think it was spoiled. I was so embarrassed I wanted to cry.but I hurried home, and took some tums. later I found out I had salmonella food poisoning as did most of the others who had ate at that Jack that afternoon. I was ill for several days.

Hi ANTIQUELADY I am not one for throwing up either most of the time it has been self inflicted. Yeah he was fine after I had got him out of the car and emptied his stomach, he's just not good on car journeys! Thanks

Whoa! What a close call! LOL! I'm glad he made it! The worst place in the world that I threw up was about 4 years ago on the city bus. I was with a friend and luckily I had a plastic bag with me. The people sitting in front of us decided to move. Gee, I wonder why? LOL! That was so embarrassing. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Hey there!! That story is hilarious! I'm so glad you caught him in time! That would have been a disaster for sure! I have the tendency towards car sickness (my son has inherited this also) so I have several incidents in my history. When I was small, we were travelling and I said "Mom, I don't feel good". My mom, who shares my tendency for motion sickness said "Pull over!" to my Dad. "She'll be fine...." he said. Well, I wasn't! Right down his back! eeek! My son has gotten sick two times in restaurants. I think he was overly excited and ate too fast both times. One such incident took place at a table in the corner where no one could see. It was bad! My husband went to the store next door and purchased new socks and shoes for him and we quietly told the waiter what had happened so as not to ruin everyone else's appetite! .... ewww.... now I'm not feeling so well.....

Hey rocketj1 Long time no see how ya doin' Hun? Good I hope. My eldest son threw up in a supermarket once, thankfully not over any produce! The two youngest have thrown up in the back of a bus once too. I had just cleaned one up and then the other threw up. Another time my middle son threw up in the back of a car just as we were pulling up to the airport and he puked all over me and his brother, so you can imagine the smell on that flight!! Oh I could go on for ages about my kids and their travel sickness ... but I won't!! LOL Thanks

hello Humbug, wow, that was almost close there my friend. that would have christened your car for sure and do a lot of cleaning after-wards.good thing you were quick to action there. well, probably next time you travel with the kids, you can get to have a paper bag or a plastic so that you don't have to pull over, the smell of a food from intestine can be really not so pleasing.

This is so embarrassing I can't believe I'm going to share it. Oh well, we're all friends here. I was drinking (under age) and me and a dozen or so friends decided it would be fun to go to Denny's at 2a.m. That is a very busy time since all of the bars let out, and when you're drunk Denny's...sucks, but it's the only thing open. We had to wait for a table about 20 minutes, and it was about 110 degrees. I started circling the drain pretty quickly. When we sat down I drank some water in a vain attempt to right myself. The waitress came over and asked my friends if I was going to be o.k. If she's reading this I'm very sorry. My friends casually lied and said, "Of course!" She took our order and split as soon as possible. She just wanted us to eat & get the f?!* out. About ten seconds later I had an episode. It was quite a scene. Like something out of a movie. My friends dragged me out and threw me in the hatchback of my car (we had sober people with us that were driving). At the same time about 150 Denny's patrons were asking for their checks. My "friends" got me home and hosed me down in the shower. After that things got a little hazy. The next morning I was sleeping on the couch, safe and sound. Everyone slept over, and as they left they would all come over to say good-bye and ask how I was feeling. I wasn't feeling well. Slipping in & out of consciousness. It took me about an hour (and a few pictures) to figure out that I was naked:)

Poor little boy! He would have been so embarrassed! Good that you can treat it lightly and with humor! I remember being pregnant and driving my poor husband's stomach crazy! Once we went out for our anniversary dinner. Halfway through I had to rush for the rest room, and it was occupied - so I used the men's room instead. My poor hubby couldn't finish his dinner then, and we ended up leaving.
