Do you use slippers while walking in the home

here in Philippines, some don't use slippers but in our place. we use slippers. yes, there are slippers with acupuncture.

A nice question indeed Yugasini. I live in Chennai and i dont need slippers at home any time since it is one of the hottest places ever. I never wear slippers at home and even at my work city(bangalore) I never use slippers if I am at home. Some of my friends wear slippers at Home and when I enquired them about the necessity of wearing slippers at home, I got a ridiculous answer like 'Our foot will not get dirty' if we wear slippers all the time and i really wonder whether the Floor wont get dirty by wearing slippers. All these sorts of comedy incident occur and more ridiculos answers will follow if we ask for the reasons. Have nice time here and keep posting.

i used to do that when i was still living in my home country with my parents because the house has tile flooring and my feet will feel very cold if i walk barefooted on it... but now that i am already married and living with my own house, i don't do that anymore because part of my house is carpeted... i only wear the slipper if i am walking on the tile floor... take care and have a nice day...

we use slippers at home, although, 2 of my 3 children are always walking and running barefoot. even on the streets outside our home, they can walk barefooted. i always scold them when they are outside, because they might be punctured by nails. walking outside barefooted is like walking using those slippers that act like accupuncture. LOL

Hello Yuga. I do wear slippers some times while walking in the house. Not always. Just when the weather gets very chilly. Then I need to wear warm socks and warm slippers. That's the slippers only worn in the house, not the ones used when walking outside.

Hello Yugasini I wear slippers with a special support for the arches of my feet as I have a health condition that makes it painful not too. I always went barefoot at home or when walking in sand before that. I do not like shoes in the house, as they bring in dirt from outside, but slippers, yes. Karen

Hi yugasini, I do wear slippers around my house this time of year because they are you know, cozy and warm. When my feet get chilled then my whole body feels chilled. I do like to go barefoot though and I do kick off the shoes a lot in the summer time. That goes for outside as well as inside. I know that some people think it is gross and not hygienic. I suppose that could be true but I've loved going barefoot since I was a kid and never had a problem. I wash my feet a lot.

Yes i do use slipper at home but not is most area. There are some part in our home that we don't use slipper like in our bedrooms. But we have this soft slipper for bedroom i don't know what it call, there are some with a cartoon character design.

I use slippers in the winter, otherwise my feet get cold. Not so much in summer.

I do have a pair of slippers, but, I primarily use them when I go out in the hallway on my floor to give Mija a walk. She likes taking walks out in the hallway because it makes her feel as if she's going 'outside'. She is an indoor cat and going for walks in the hallway on ocassion is a treat for her. oh yes i always wear slippers in the house. i put them on as soon as i get home. its something the whole family does. not only is it more comfortable, it also helps to keep the floors nice and clean.

Hi, yugasini! I'm used to wearing slippers inside the house because our floor is made of tiles and marbles and I find it cold. I feel comfortable using slippers at home, even when I go out of the house. However, I use a different pair when I go out. Actually, I have a couple of pairs of slippers. ^_^

it's common here in my country to use slipper, some people use them as there fashion statement cause they wear them even they have dentist appointment or going in court room...awful!

we live in P.I., my beloved Philippines. In personal statistics, there are greater than 50% (fifty percent) of the population here in the myBeloved Pinas wears Slippers at home... long live the slipper wearing country!!!

I only use slippers in my home if I do not have socks on. If I do have socks on then I find no point to me of wearing slippers. I use slippers to protect my bare feet from things that harm me that is laying on the ground.

Hi yugasini, look what your boring discussion gets you - pages of responses LOL.. I do use slippers at home because I have got used to it. But when I visit other homes I leave them outside of course ...I too realise that it is probably much healthier to walk without them at least within your home, but what to do? I am seriously thinking of doing awy with my habit and starting to walk with bare feet within my house - all the best yugasini

Ah, I heard about that habit you have. I think that in some book (perhaps "Around The World in 80 Days") was kind of an episode, where the main characters were in India and one of them entered a temple without taking off his shoes. He got himself into much trouble like that. Anyway, I do wear slippers, because I have a rabbit at home, and he sometimes tends to poop on the carpet, so there is a chance that I won't notice it and will step into his turd

yeah the slippers are good for surfaces that are neat but if you have floor tiles or other type of floors which is cold in feet, i think we should use some slippers and i prefer using it for me to be comfortable at home

I use slippers all the time in my house. Being that I have no carpet in my home but only in my bedroom. Every where else there is tile every where. I am the type of person that hates germs I'm like a germaphobe, so I have to always have something on my feet when at least walking on the tile part of my home. I don't know I think that I may just have people start removing their shoes when entering my home and keeping my floor clean all the time. Which I do clean, but not as often. I never knew that some people in India don't were shoes in their home because of sanctity. That is good to know. I have learned something new today.

Yes. even though i have slippers in my house i rarely wear them at home, it's just a bother to even think about it. You need to put it on then take it off if not needed then repeat the process again. I know i'm making such a big deal about this but that's what i think.
