My son loves his pizzas soo much that he would eat them all day every day if i let him.Do you think it is healthy for a child of 10 years old to only want top eat pizza all the time?He likes all the flavors of pizza apart from the ones you can get with small bits of beef on,so there are always lots of different toppings that we buy on all the styles of pizza that we can get from a shop.I know they can be filling and there are alot of people out there that are probably the same and that is all they would eat aswell, but from a health point of view i do not think this is good for him.

I think it's all carbs. Hmm... I don't think it's good either, but if you let him eat those with lots of vegetables and other sources of protein perhaps it'll be better. Why don't you try baking him a dish or cooking him up something similar to the taste of pizza? I've tried doing that for my nephew and he absolutely loves my pasta.

I had someone I would make macaroni and cheese for, with pepperoni and other things chopped in. Then at the table I would drizzle spaghetti sauce over the top of it and put some Parmesan cheese on top of that. It is really yummy, and it is a different way to get the pizza taste. On the other hand if it is a texture thing, he may need whatever he eats served on a flat bread etc. Some people just really like the finger food aspect of pizza.

Even after eating a proper meal he will still say he craves pizza and i find this very strange for a 10 year old to use the words crave or even craving.I have also made sure that he has not got the dreaded childhood illness called i hate to say worms and he has not got them so i can not see why he always asks for the same type of food.

I know kids go through phases of what they will eat and won't eat, and their taste buds change too. I would think it would be okay if maybe there was veggies on the pizza or served on the side. As you said, there are many ways to serve up a pizza. Just as soon as you get use to that's all they will eat, they generally out grow the phase.

No, it's not good for anyone to eat too much pizza. Too many calories and fat. If he runs it off, though, he'll be okay. Take his favorite toppings and make a new dish--if he likes his pizza with pineapple and green peppers, make some chicken with that in it, it's delicious.

Yes, my kids all like pizza as well. I usually get them pizza sometime on the weekend IF they eat what I fix all week long. I don't understand why it is so well liked either. My favorite is a vegetarian with shrimp on wheat crust. Some of the cheap brands in the stores are utterly hideous but my kids even seem to like them best. What is up with that?!

There are a lot of people that love pizza that much. My kids liked pizza a lot too. We usually have pizza with white sauce, chicken, and spinach..or broccoli...mmm. The tomato sauce is actually pretty good for you though. Cheese.good..there are a lot of great ingredients on a pizza.

all i can say is that too much of something is no good. it has be moderate and balance.
i wonder if your son is addicted to pizza? sorry to use the word addicted...but it could be a mind thing where he believes in eating pizza a good thing or whatever his reason is...you might want to sit down with your son and talk about it...just a suggestion..

Pizza represents all food groups, but it is high fat. They say you should blot it off with a napkin before you eat it. If he will eat a salad or bowl of soup or some fruit with it, it should be okay. My husband is the same way. Your son should eat whatever the family is eating, though, so he doesn't always eat pizza.

Even afterr eating the same meal at the same time as the rest of my family he still wants a pizza an hour later.I do put a paper towel over the pizza if there is any fat residue on it when it comes out of the oven a friend of mine told me about that as i had never done it in the past.Perhaps he is going through a fad and in the end he will be fed up with pizza and will not want it anymore,we can only hope.

Well I guess it has all the nutrients that a food can have but I think being oily and everything it will not be healthy in the long run. I think you should introduce your son to other nutritious foods so that he can have balance diet. Pizza are not a bad choice but then if taken over and over it will not be as healthy if taken not in moderation.

I do give my son other foods and he do eat them, but even after eating a roast dinner he will still want a pizza less than an hour later.I have even heard him say that he has a craving for pizza just like a pregnant woman which is strange words for a 10 year old to say.

Well on one hand at least he picked something that is well balanced and contains most of the food groups. However, pizza can be kind of fattening because of all the grease and the cheese, but if you are making the pizza yourself and varying the ingredients he should probably be OK. If he is not over or under weight I would not worry about it. He will eventually outgrow it.

I am no good at making anything myself, lol.I get lots of different makes with all different sorts of toppings for my son aswell as if i have friends that also turn up unannounced aswell.Even if i am having a few friends over my son tells me that i am pinching his pizza and he tells my friends the same, lol, what a cheek.I know i should be happy that he is eating well as one of my daughters was under a diet dr as she would not eat so i suppose i am lucky with him in some ways.

Me and him would get along great. I could eat Pizza 24-7.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I don't think there's anything wrong with it unless he starts gaining a lot of weight.

Hi Jugs,
My youngest son loves eating pizza too. he loves the hawaiian flavor pizza. but he can do with other flavors as long as it is pizza. he can finish two to three slices in one sitting. i am planning to buy a pizza oven maker so that i make one of him and for the family once a week. at least it's practical and more economical.

Hijugsjugs,,Actually, pizza is a very nutritious food. I am not saying that he should eat it everyday, but there are a lot worse foods he could want on a regular basis, like McDonalds and the likes..I do, however, think that if you made you own pizza, which is soooo easy, you could control what goes on it and in his tummy. I buy pizza dough from the bakery dept of my local grocery store and I think that most stores do the same. Pizza is a great way to get vegetables into him, and there are so many that are good on it. If you make your own you are avoiding all the additives and perservatives of store bought and you can control the salt etc. Plus kids love to "design" their own pizza,,I teach kids to cook every other Friday at different schools and when I ask them what they want to do, Pizza is always a choice. (chicken fingers runs second!) Its a fun way to bring the family together and have some fun while eating somehing that not only tastes great but it good for you too!!

hi again jugs jugs if he is the right weight for his size and age, maybe you should just keep your cool for awhile and see what happens,I was going to suggest fruit instead of pizza after his meal but you have already gone that route. so maybe just relax, I know you are really concerned as I would have been too, but kids do outgrow some of those desires too, as you said, he will get fed up with only pizza.

I have tried making my own pizza but the end result was not that great i am sorry tpo say.I think in the end he will be fed up with pizza the only problem with that is will he then find something worse to eat.He eats a proper cooked meal with us yet an hour later he will still want pizza i have offered other things instead of pizza and he will not have them.He is the right weight for his size aswell as age so perhaps i should not worry too much at the moment.

I personally don't think it would be healthy to eat pizzas all the time. I think that pizza is a luxury food. I think that pizzas have lots of oils in them because of the cheese and some of the other toppings. It is okay to eat pizzas sometimes.

it's normal for a ten year old to only want pizza. I mean it tasts good, but yes it won't be good for his health. Why not introduce him to healthier foods like bananas, and the normal healthy foods. I guess a good way to make him eat healthier would be to get pizza flavored gold fish, they taste amazing and they are alot healthier than pizza. But, once you start eating healthier, you don't like junk food nearly as much. Hope i helped.

Health wise no. They are very high in calorie and other things. He is not getting essential nutrients that way. Of course kids seem to go through spells where they only want certain things. Just watch him and try to get him off it. Does he get a lot of exercise and take vitamins?

I think it depends on how rounded out the rest of his diet is. He still needs to drink milk, have fresh fruits and veggies and although pizza does cover several food groups it can also be very fattening. My nephew is 12 and we have pizza whenever he comes over. It's a treat for him and he loves it. I also make him have a glass of milk and we make something to go with the pizza like salad, fruit or something.
Last summer they went up north to visit and my Dad told me he wouldn't eat anything. He hadn't eaten in like 2 days. I told him to go get him a pizza and he'd eat. My Dad thought I was nuts but he did it and my nephew ate fine and had other things with it. I wouldn't let him sit and eat a whole pizza but I don't see the harm in 1 or 2 slices.

Pizza has a lot of good stuff on it and in it too, and soon he'll be tired of it anyway.
Let him eat it. All kinds and have him add veggies and stuff like pineapple too.
I truly see nothing wrong with it and besides you two are not fighting and guess who else would eat pizza all the time if she could ??
ME :)

I don't really think that eating a lot of pizza is the best choice that can be made from a health standpoint, but I also think that there are a lot of food decisions that can be made that are far worse for one's diet. Besides all of the grease that is in a pizza, the other thing that isn't really all that good about it is that it is loaded with carbs. I would continue to allow him to eat pizza in moderation, but I would definitely also make sure that he was getting plenty of fruits and vegetables in his diet.

Well no its not good for him or for your pocket lol. The body needs nutrients and although pizza may have its share of protein, there is a need for more and from other sources.
