Bananas ‘DO YOU LIKE TO EAT’

I read in a report that, the fully ripe banana produces a substance called TNF which has the ability to combat abnormal cells. As the banana ripens, it develops dark spots or patches on the skin. The more dark patches it has, the higher will be its' immunity enhancement quality. Hence the Japanese love bananas for a good reason. According to a Japanese scientific research, banana contains TNF which has anti-cancer properties. The degree of anti-cancer effect corresponds to the degree of ripeness of the fruit, i.e. the riper the banana, the better the anti-cancer quality. In an animal experiment carried out by a professor in Tokyo U comparing the various health benefits of different fruits, using banana, grape, apple, water melon, pineapple, pear and persimmon, it was found that banana gave the best results. It increased the number of white blood cells, enhanced the immunity of the body and produced anti-cancer substance TNF. The recommendation is to eat 1 to 2 bananas a day to increase your body immunity to diseases like cold, flu and others. According to the Japanese professor, yellow skin bananas with dark spots on it are 8 times more effective in enhancing the property of white blood cells than the green skin version. Honestly speaking, I did not knew this and never purchased the over ripe bananas. I purchase the normal looking ones, that my son, daughter in law eat, my youngest granddaughter is very fond of this. As me and my wife both have diabetic, we don’t eat banana. We eat papaya, guava, and orange that are said to have less sugar. I never researched in to this. So do you like banana, what other fruits you like, do you eat daily, is it with your breakfast? Please share. Professor

I too like banana a lot especially banana shake. Banana is a tropical fruit. This humble fruit has many health benefits. It is a rich source of potassium. Bananas are also a natural source of iron. Banana is an energy booster. Banana contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin. I eat it everyday whether it is summer or winter. Banana is always there in my kitchen fruit basket. Thanks.

Whilst I like bananas, I rarely eat them these days because I have a problem metabolising sugar. I am not diabetic, but have always had a physical intolerance for sugar in my system. Fortunately, I discovered this at a quite a young age, because I always had a craving for sugar-based foods and it was investigated. I quit eating sugar-based foods for several years completely, but now will eat a small piece of fruit now and again, just as a treat, but I must not make a habit of it. _Dere

Yes, I have not been so active here for some time as we have been having some house alterations and that has been taking up quite a bit of my time. I come sometimes and just add quick responses to discussions that I feel I can answer, but then I need to get working on the alterations so that my wife can stay happy! _Derek

I am similar with regards to Banana. I don't eat also banana before it a great changes when I arrived here in Middle East because most of my colleagues eat bananas, I am wondering why and they answer me that it is good for the health than any other fruit. It's free in in our cafeteria. You can eat as many as you can if it is put beside our food tray. Now on I always eat banana. Thanks to your brief sharing. It helps me a lot.

I hae 2 favorite fruits. Mango and bananas. I love to eat them when they are between green and yellow. Half and half. Once they get the dark spots i dont like them as much. I let them continue to get dark them use them for banana bread. I love banana bread with nuts and/or chocolate chips. For the bread the darker the banana the better the bread.

Disease fighting properties of bananas is news to me. I eat some kind of fruit with my cereal nearly every morning. It is banana more often than any other fruit because that is the cheapest fruit available in this area. Right now, peaches are in season, so they are reasonably priced. If I have no cold cereal on hand, I eat oatmeal with raisins.

It´s a wonderful piece of news that a fruit I like so much is also so good for my health. I much prefer to help out my inmune system than to haveall those shots against different possible illness. Ripe banana is wonderful with milk. The sugar of the banana is more than enough to make it a very good drink, specially for kids in the Summer. I went to see my sister, a scientist, a little over than a month ago and I picked up a scientific magazine one day, just to have something to read at night. I discovered that the body only picks up the antioxidants from veggies and fruits and that all those (expensive) pills Id been taking for years did not do any good. The vitamins and minerals had to take its time to pass through the body if they were going to serve any purpose. Now I´m on the path of vegetable and fruit eating, several servings a day, made in different ways. I´m experimenting...

I am very aware of the benefits of eating bananas. Luckily I do not have any problems with high blood sugar as I do not know what I would do without bananas. They are a staple diet of our household. We go through more than a box per week of Lady Finger bananas between myself, my wife and our two young children. I have between 6 and 10 each day, mostly in smoothies. I have a large green smoothie for breakfast each day with six bananas and sometimes have a smaller smoothie for lunch which will have four in it. I always eat them spotty as they taste much better and are better for you than when they are more bright yellow and green. With the Lady Fingers it is important to wait until they break off from the bunch with only a light twist. If you have to twist with any force, then they are not ready to eat.

Hi Professor, banana is the favorite fruit of my family because it's cheap here in the Philippines. Yes bananas are really good for our bodies. You know even its trunk the one inside the trunks, we use it in cooking with the chicken. Aside from the trunk, we also use the banana flowers for one of our dish. I've learned that bananas also contain potassium a mineral that is good for the heart.

Here too we use the flowers and the thin sheet like leaves from inside the trunks as vegetables. Thanks for response . Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

I do love bananas. Every morning when I get to office, I go to the canteen to get 2 pieces of banana. That's what I eat for breakfast. During lunch breaks after meal, I eat 1 banana for dessert. And when I get home and I see a banana on our table, I don't hesitate to eat it. Of course I can only do this if banana is available. Other fruits I eat? all of them, as long as it's fruit, I eat it, because I know, eating fruits is good for the body. As much as possible, I like to eat fruits rather than any other snack food.

I love banana most. Aha, I was born in the Chinese lunar year of Monkey. And, it really smells and tastes yammy. I know it's good for our body, esp for those suffering from constipation, but not appropriate for some like baby under one year old, those suffering from diarrhea, and, based on TCM, those of cold. Am I right?! Wait for your opinions!

I loove bananas especially when they just when the peeling just starts turning brown. I like them baked in banana bread and made into smoothies with blueberries and strawberries. I also like cantaloupe, mandarin oranges, papaya, watermelons, and would like to try guava. I heard that you can make tea from the leaves of the banana plant that is full of antioxidents. does anybody know where I might get banana seeds that are cold hardy enough for north Florida that are cheap? Im in USDA growing zone 9 or 8. Oh, and what does TNF stand for Professor? would like to know.
