Would you share your umbrella to a complete stranger?

I wouldn't mind sharing my umbrella to a stranger especially if he/she looks harmless enough. I would usually share my umbrella to an elderly woman or a younger girl. However, there were cases when I had to share it with a man. He ended flirting with me but I just ignored him. Not my cup of tea.LOL

Many years ago I shared my umbrella with someone. I was in Paris on holiday with my girlfriend. As we were returning to our hotel one evening, the second to last day before we were to catch our flight back home, it started to rain so we pulled our small folding umbrellas out of our purses. I saw a white car pull up across the street from the hotel. The most gorgeous man I had ever seen in my life got out of the car. He had no umbrella, it was raining rather hard so he signalled to me if I could come over and shield him with my umbrella. It turned out we were staying in the same hotel. Now the umbrellaless man I met is my husband of almost 25 years. A few years ago my husband went to Paris with one of his cousins when they were having the World Cup there. I reminded him to take an umbrella with him since the last time he was without one it got him in a lot of trouble.

Hey trish! That was very nice of you to share your umbrella with that stranger! And, yes I have done it too and more than once. I take the bus and have shared my umbrella with many strangers at the busstop alone! It's just an umbrella and why not be nice to someone. Unfortunately, not many people think like we do and don't care if we drown in the rain!

i think i will do it too especially if it is an old lady or an old man. and maybe kids. but if they are just teenager boys and girls or they are in their 20s. i wont. they should be responsible to bring their own umbrella.

Well I have already done that in the past. One particular was with a pregnant lady and her 3 year old son. They couldn't get home so I gave them my umbrella instead and let them have it so they could take a ride home.

Yes, I have shared my umbrella a couple of times with a stranger. What I love about it is the really rewarding feeling after. Plus, when I was the one who didn't have an umbrella on a rainy day, a very nice someone let me share, too! Hail cool and nice people! It makes our world more wonderful! :))

It happened to me many times, when I saw somebody who haven't any umbrella or raincoat under the rain. I don't even think that they are bad. Mostly I am the one offer it to them. I received alot of thanks or thank after all the goodness I did. In our country it is common somebody ask you to share with your umbrella during rainy days but not in sunny days.

I would agree to share my umbrella with a stranger. A little kindness can go a long way. Someday you might need such a favor. It would be nice to know that someone would be willing to help out.

yes i will share if polite asked, sometime i loan the umbrella to the stranger loading they babies or old folks into the waiting car , and then they will return back to me. Usually people here are shy and do not ask to share umbrella especillly i am a guy and i look little perverted in nature. While guys usually want to act macho and no need umbrella they rather wait it out or get soak.

yes i would. it wouldnt harm me if i help. unless that stranger suddenly tricks me and robs me. :)) but i have good faith in all the people around me :) and besides, if i was the stranger who has no umbrella, i will highly appreciate it if someone shared an umbrella for me :D

In the same situation I will, but it would all depends on how the stranger will look like. I'm not selfish but I wont risk myself to someone I really don't know esp. when that stranger looks like a bad dirty guy. ;p

Of course, I'll be willing to share my umbrella with a complete stranger, if necessary BUT..... I would also consider carefully choosing whom I share my umbrella with. It also pays to be vigilant these days. In these days when hooligans dressed in doves-skin are everywhere just waiting to jump on its prey, it also gives me second thought whether to share my umbrella to a stranger or not. I don't want to be trusting too much. You'll never know. Self-preservation comes first.

Yes I will but of course I wont be sharing it right away. I will try to investigate the person before give up my trust. It is not a joke being with a stranger but if she/he is worth the trust, why hesitate?

Definitely, I will, given that the man/woman doesn't look suspicious. It's always good that we'd be careful. Anyhow, if it's an old lady or a kid, I'd, without a doubt, share it him/her.

I think yes, I will..as I guess, the starnger needs really..so just to help someone, I don't mind.. But, you know sometimes, Even if I know the starnger is trying to cheat, still I may share..for persaonal satisfaction out of that moment. Thanks

Before I did that, that was so many years ago at the mall and we are about to go home when it was raining hard. I have my friends with me and they dont have umbrella too. While waiting, there was a pregnant women at my side and we are all getting wet, I pity the pregnant women and I lend her my umbrella, while me and my friends were totally wet from hard rain. When I got home my mother scolded me, she's wondering how can I got wet when I have umbrella, I didn't answer back, I just kept quiet. But now, I don't I will cause umbrella cannot accompany two people, only with my bf though.
