I have a set of identical twin girls who are 19. They have always been close and very emotional toward one another. They act alike and have similar personalities but different traits. When growing up they would switch personalities so to speak. One would be the aggressive one and take the lead and the other sit back and enjoy the ride. We had lots of homework trouble with this going on!

i think that twins can share the same personality - think the same things are funny, have similar tastes and behave somewhat the same in many circumstances. they act different from one another due to emotional attitude, emotional intelligence, life experiences and personal level of judgement and education level.

My mom and aunt are identical twins they both got married to brothers, on the same day, they like each other very much and share all their problems with each other, they are not identical in nature one likes to socialize and talk a lot other is a bit reserved, their personalities are quite different.

I have read of identical twins that were separated when they were small and had not met until they had grown up. When they learnt to know each other, they found that they had a lot in common. Liked the same things and so on. As far as I know, even identical twins have some differencies too. I read of twins with a funny difference, one was left handed and the other right handed.

No two persons are exactly similar to each other even though they are twins and are similar looking. I have friends who are twins and both though similar in many aspects differ in many other opinions.

I know a few sets of twins. All of them seem to try to be very different from each other in the way they act and even try to look different from each other. They're probably tired of always being compared to the other and need to feel some uniqueness. However, I've seen sets of twins on TV that are incredibly alike and they enjoy being that way.

My sisters are identical twins. They are a lot alike in some ways. They definatly have their differences though, just like any other siblings. I saw a problem where some things are basically hardwired in twins to be the same.

I think most of them should be alike.

We can't really say that they would be similar in every respect. they can have a lot of personal differences, despite their identical looks. Ther can be a strong bond between the two but that doesn't mean that they think, speak and act alike.

Well, infact twins ofcourse have different actions. But, many times what one thinks will exactly coincide with what the other thinks. Out of my personal experience, my twin brother almost always guess what i`m going to say, and returns me the answer. Again, the answer that he gave me, would be exactly what i expected. Many times, i had faced similar situations he had faced, though both of us, are physically well apart...!! You wouldn`t believe me, if i tell you that once both of us got the same dream, wher we met each other and spoke the same words that we could recite the next morning!! It happened!. Out of my analysis i have found that any pair of twins would have similar intentions and actions, if they are bought up together and treated equally.

My sister-in-law has twins.A boy and a girl.Their age difference is few seconds. As far as behavior, there are no similarities. They behave as if they are not twins. But both are quite good looking with exemplary behavior. They share a common trait, love for music among them.Praneet, the boy is a talented Harmonica player and studying for a degree in Multi media in Canada. The girl is a Piccolo player. Twins need not behave in similar fashion in all cases.Thank you for a nice topic

Well for twins, their actions or behaviour may be influenced by the environment they find themselves in; thus might be different in this situation, but since "Intelligence" is genetical they might be same.

I have ideantical, mirror image twin brothers, they are 32. They spent one year a part when they were in the Marine Corps. It was the most miserable year of their life. The rest of their time in they spent on the same base and or float. They are VERY close and live a mile apart. I always wished they had married identical twins because at least they would understand their bond. My boys are identical and they are very similar. They are very artistic and very much into the same video games, recycling and caring for the earth and animals. One is a bit more athletic than the other but that may change. They are only 8. It wasn't until around 3 months ago that they started bopping each other. They sleep together and sit in bed and chat and cackle like little old ladies. It is adorable! The bond between identical twins is like nothing I have ever seen or experienced except 2nd hand.

No two individuals are ever going to be exactly the same, even if they are identical twins and so share 100% of their genes. Depending on the personalities of the twins, which may be different, even if they are identical genetically, their environments and personal experiences etc they will never have the same shared experiences which shape us into who we are...hence the end of the nature vs nurture debate as we know it but into the questions of how much of each, how and when do they interact. I think that some twins will try to rebel and try to make themselves different from each other whereas others will enjoy the closeness that it can create so as a standard question I really can't answer you except to say it depends on a lot of other things!
