Yesterday I read an article that was alittle alarming. Now I know some of you don't care for Facebook but I use it as a break while online and writing. Research becomes gruling and I like to take a break, read some status' and play a game or two. Now to find this:
http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/27321/facebook-will-end-on-march-15th/
What do you think?

Hope so. I use it for a break in my writing and have reconnected with friends I haven't seen in years. Don't where else I would do that.

Hi celticagle,
Do not believe this news. This is a silly rumor. I do not think such geniuses will not shut down their brain child. Face book is a leading social networking site and it will not be closed down, simply to get his old life back. He can get his life as he wanted with the tons of money face book is making.
There is another link and an official confirmation stating this is a rumor on the same page posted by another user in comments. If you want you can check it. I am posting the link below.
Do not panic and feel relaxed(This is a rumor)
Check the link down(this is not a referral link)PS scroll down the link and you will see [UPDATE] read it.

A 'fake' facebook? I bet Weekly got alot of mileage out of it.

There is no way that facebook will 'close.' YOu just don't close a 50 billion dollar industry. There have been rumors that zuckerberg will sell the majority of the shares, but that doesn't mean that it's closing. It could change in the future and eventually go by the wayside similar to MySpace but it's not going to just cease to exist.

Yahoo already wrote an article about it. It's not a hoax nor a rumor.

See, he is saying just the opposite of what he said in the other article from World Press. He was saying there that he didn't think FBers will mind or something to that effect. I think he has some emotional issues.

Still not convinced it's a hoax? The tip off was that he said "It's better to make real friends anyway. He didn't build it to help people make friends! He built it to let people with the same interests communicate easier. Facebook is about building relationships, friends or not!

i hope that the news is not true... even though i'm not a big fan of facebook and i hardly visit the site, but i had gained a lot of friends from that site and i had managed to find my long lost friends as well through that site... i also know that many people are really having fun with the site... so it will be very disappointing if the site really close... take care and have a nice day...

Me too. I have since checked elsewhere and gotten responses on here that tell me it is a hoax. It would be disappointing if it did.

Don't trust them. There are lots of hoaxes hovering over internet right now, not just about Facebook. I hate hoax and I will not trust them ever until I can see what's happening on something. I regularly check Facebook although not liking to write something on my status but I like to comment on someone's wall. I don't think Facebook will ever close, because people are already glued into it and too hard for them to forget Facebook. It has become not just household name but I think it's also a word spoken by people all over the world, regardless of the languages.

I have it up all the time I am online. I go there for my breaks while writing and doing my research. I have reconnected with some old friends that I probably would not hear from elsewhere. I play afew of their games and interact with friend's in them.

I wouldn't think so. He seems to have some emotional issues though that make me wonder. I have read the other sites updates and it seems to be a hoax. Yu hasn't heard anything and he is a high up dude so......????

I read a study said that people who spent more than 10 minutes a day ion facebook will not be a successful person. That reflect the bad influence of how facebook will make a person into. Many company blocked facebook so that their employee can't access to facebook during working hours which caused loses to the company. I think this will definitely a good news for many company but it will be real sad news for people who addicted to facebook. So, those who are addicted to facebook can now start to look for another alternative.

Well, I take about ten minutes breaks there several times a day and the last two months I have made more each month so it isn't hurting me very badly.

Hey dear, i do not feel so that facebook will be closed..If we see its positive sides, through facebook we can play and can maintain our old memories and friends as well. I think we all require social network in our daily routine life.. And facebook is the one, which is providing all the facilities at one platform. So legally it should not be bend.
Thanks Dear for update us.

At least two of the major news media 9online) posted that Facebook is NOT going to be shutting down. I've been all over the online news sites today about the Arizona shooting so don't remember where I saw the Facebook articles. But since two of the majors are disclaiming, I'll believe 'em.

actually they could shut it down and it'd be no big deal. what did you do before FB to unwind? i have pogo games to go to. lots more fun then giving flowers and ponies and dirt, etc, back and forth on FB i used to spend countless hrs on myspace. thought id never live without it. then i found mylot and hardly ever go to myspace or FB. anyway, FB's to big. someone would buy him out first.

I like my little routine and I would hate to have to change. I hate change. But, I have found it is never quite as bad as it seems.
