I'm with you, Hatley....but as I was guilty of it before...about a year ago....I can't really say anything much. I do believe the welcome email now contains the link to the Guidelines and FAQs.

hi zralte oh but you did learn. Yes I thought that the mylolt admins had made a few changes. So they are given the link so why did not they use it? I bet if they had read the rules of discussions first they really would have used the FAQ's as suggested. lol.

That frustrates me, too. I think that before a person can be a member, he or she should have to take a test on the rules here. The moderators would have way less work to do and it would be a more interesting place without all those newbie questions from people who don't read the information.

I think many people, (including myself) when they are new to a site, just scan over the guidelines and then throw themselves into the site. Yes, I wonder if mylot should place in simple and bold lettering, that if one wants their posts not deleted, they should read and reread the guidelines..Or something like that..

I still worked here at home, but I wonder if I had an outside job if I could go to work. I mean spontaneous tears at home is different than in public. My husband wanted me to go to the store with him today and I really didn't think it was a good idea, to go out, see something that would remind me of Lindsey, then start crying. People around me would think I am nuts or something...lol

I was lucky enough before I came across a discussions related to member stars so I immediately got an idea what was all about. When I saw the star I was only confused why different colors. I wasn't be curious about the star but when my star color dropped down from blue to red I was curious and posted a discussion what was going on. Unfortunately, I was not alone, most of my friends encounter the same problem. With regards to newbies we must be patience to treat them because we also did it when we were new to myLot. They need our help and we must shoe them our concern for them to stay with us.

Hi Mrs. Hatley From the old discussions that I read on here, so many past/present members have made suggestions for myLot to implement. But to date it appears nothing really has. Although a bit frustrating to continue to repeat over and over, I do try remember that I too was once new. However, I was one who read the FAQ & Guidelines as I signed up and did not post a single letter for 3 months. I suppose with many that do continue to ask, feel as long as someone will answer there is no reason for asking. Shame though as you have noticed too many give misleading and wrongful information. Would be nice if myLot made some requirements that a member be made to read the guidelines and confirm as such but I suppose anyone can say they did when they didn't so the only way to prevent further duplications of the same questions is that myLot continue to delete the questions as Answered in FAQ, along with sending the member notification that of the reason so that they do not continue to post it over and over. But it is wishful thinking, I think.. lol

hi hardworkinggurl I was so interested I just read all the info and I have not ever had a discussion deleted of mine. I have lost a ton of responses as I was just trying to help until one person said no old lady .like you is bossing me. okay lose your damned discussions as I no longer care. I am now for me keeping my earnings and let someone else wealthier than I to hold their hands and spoon feed them. I have had it.

Gee I do not blame you at all, because if they had a second to get to know you through your writing they would certainly know that you are very helpful. I will never forget my very first very personal discussion on here where some were so cruel and here you came and comforted me, with your wonderful words of wisdom. Sorry you had to go through that.

I was also wondering why?,why? why?, yeah I made mistakes when I was new but not the more obvious FAQ's and learned by going on it over and over, could it be because of language barrier sometimes? or some people are just too eager beavers to make a little extra, too in a hurry to start something, yeah hope someone does something about your query

I am not positive that I read the guidelines and faq when I joined, but you know, that was back in the dark ages. I do know that if I have a question, I go back and refer to them. I also realize, and I hope others do as well, that terms of service may be changed at any time. Hatley, I did not save any donuts for us for today from my other discussion, but I am putting together a runza casserole. I know we have another friend who is posting about Greek food. I think we need to ditch this place for a while and go have a buffet.

It is pretty much what a person from Nebraska calls a bierock. I was not familiar with that until I moved to Kansas, and then a friend who had moved here from Nebraska mentioned the runza. Both of them are stuffed rolls or hand held meat pies. Ground meat, and cabbage or kraut usually. With a cheesy sauce as well. It is interesting to me that so many cultures have very similar dishes.

before i joined mylot a friend of mine who is a mylot member back then explained me everything i need to know. she keeps bugging me to join for a year and at start i just wanted to keep her off my back so i joined. but i find it very interesting so thats why i am still here. i guess it is an obligation of a member to orient someone if they want this person to join mylot. some members dont enjoy mylot and leave because they were not oriented on what to do and dont and what to expect. there are new members that joins mylot and gets discussion deleted and they get frustrated and leave. in my opinion if you want someone to join in orient them before hand. now the problem is people who just walked in. for me its a S.O.P. already to read the Faqs and the guidelines so they will not be lost. all the newbies needs to know are on there they need to give time to read it before going around.

Don't most new wives advise their husbands to read the instructions?! Same thing here. Most newbies are youngsters who are used to having stuff handed to them They are the same ones that right the discussions I was just ranting about recently. About how what the secret is to making money online. OMG! You know what I do? I delete that puppy(usually) and move on. If enough did that I think they might get the idea. Or just think we are all rude and move on. I don't really care which happens myself. (Grrr!)

hi celticeagle you said it in a nutshell. I lost ten responses when I tried to help four newbies and this made a big dent in my earnings and all I got in return was you are rude, so and so really helped me, she told me the info I needed.you are just rude. okey so now I just go on bye or delete or both.I dont care anymore either as some will just keep on helping the same ones for months here and they will never read the informatin at all. they do not have to.Like bailing an adult child out of trouble over and over until one day you realilze you are not helping your child at all, you are juse enablling him or her to not do anything for themselves.

hello Hatley, I am also guilty about this. When i was a newbie,i also asks what's the number besides username. But later i asks other mylotters thru pm to avoid deletion. I guess,it's time that reading guidelines/faq's should be a must to all newbies to avoid same and same topic and questions from new comers. Or maybe, those mylotters who refers them ,should at least be of help and guide their referrals too. Hope you won't get tired giving advices too ma'm

Hi friend. This is first time i am responding to your discussion. You are in my friends list and always see 'your friend hatley has got best response ' and always respect you for english knowledge you had. There is always a bunch of words in your posts which i don't understand because my primary language i s not english so i have to take dictionary for reading your posts! Well. I am newbie here so am not frustrated as you all are. I had also started one discussion regarding how to get star and what does it suggests, may i have also irritated you. Sorry for that. I am just thinking if i am admin of the site then what should i do to fix this. But i haven't got any perfect answer. What do you think, what admin should do to avoid this!

yogesh and yhoyo once you hit that link that was given to you and read the FAQ's and guidlines ask a friend who is good in English to reread it with you as it will save lost discussions and time of the admins too as well as irritated older ones who try to help and get ignored or get fussed at for being rude. Rude is not right as we do try to help you newcomers.

Administration has already addressed this. They request that all new members read the guidelines and FAQ's. It would save a lot of administration's time and the time of the current members who are continually answering questions that are already answered in those FAQ's and guidelines.

This always frustrated a certian memeber, who will not be nammed. It drove this person so crazy and they just keep complaining about new memebers! This person was constantly making discussions about this and responded to discussions from new members! This Mylot memeber tried to explain this to new memebers and you would think the administration would tell new members to read the guidelines! I think what happens so many people join Mylot they never do read the guidelines because they don't know there are some or they just don't think they need to read them! Whatever the reason I don't rely to those types of discussions much. It takes the fun out of Mylot and I think our Mylot friend I talked about before might be gone! If they are, they'll be back! It has happened before! More then once!

hi blue65packer Yes I think I know who you are talking about and he I am sure, at least I hope so, will be back.
