I did both my kids. Mothers milk has some natural antibodies that you can't get from giving them formula. It's how nature meant it to be, so even if you do it only for a few weeks, you given them a better start in life.

This is a touchy topic for me. I believe in it, and I blelieve it's best for the baby and I wanted to do, and tried it. And failed. Not once but THREE times. I found it very, very painful. The babies' mouths were like sandpaper, and they wanted to nurse almost non-stop. Even the soothing cream they gave me hurt when I had to wash it off to nurse the baby again. I don't how other women could do it - and so naturally! For myself, I would even say it was a worse experience than childbirth. (With my fourth baby, I didn't even try.)

When babies are nursing, they can not bite. If they bite, they are not sucking, they are playing or experimenting. With my daughter if she bit she would automatically be done nursing, so she learned quickly not to bite.

If you can, you should... some women aren't able to do it, and for others it takes a lot of practice, but it's so much better for the baby. I had a horrible time with it, but did it anyway. My daughter who was a preemie really needed it, preemies don't do well on formula, so I had an extra ounce of motivation.

I think if a woman is able to and wants to then she should go for it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to for any of my children, but I don't think their any worse off for it. It's the womans right to choose.

Yes I believe in it. My babies didn't want to, so I pumped milk for at least 2 weeks. I wish for more but I wasn't getting much. They say it contains antibodies that will protect your baby. My children's health are on top of my priorities.

That's very nice of you. Why would your babies reject your milk? Are they still doing it now? It's only good for them I believe.

I was planning on BF my daughter but things didnt work out like I wanted them too. My milk never came in like it was suppose to.. only 2 weeks and then it was gone. And there was nothing I could do about it. So since 2 weeks my daughter has been on formula and is VERY healthy.

Yes cause it was the most natura and direct way of feeding to the baby provided the mother should be in good health at the same time.

A lot of women believe in nursing their babies but for a variety of reasons, usually medical, just cannot so their only option is to give the baby formula. Do not judge someone who is giving their baby a bottle of formula unless you know all the circumstances. Oh, I did nurse my own child but as he was premmie it was a bit of an uphill struggle for a while, but I was determined to do what I had to so he would grow and could come home. My decision turned out to be for the best in the long run but not everyone has the support that I did.

I believe it depends on the circumstance. I tried my hardest but had to give up at 6 weeks. I know it is scientifically better for bubs, but I figure a happy and healthy mother is even better. And if the means formula, then so be it!
