Do you play the lottery?

With only one in millions, the odds of winning the lottery aren't very good yet playing the lottery is still a popular past time. I have played the lottery minimally over the years but recently have lost my appetite.
While there is always the possibility that I could be that one in a million to win the millions, I have lost interest in trying to beat the odds. I do visit the casino once in awhile but I only play the penny slots and just for fun. When I reach my limit which is quite minimal, I leave.
On the other hand there are some real hard core gamblers. I've seen some sit next to me and in 60 seconds they have blown $100. Then they move to another slot machine hoping for better luck.

Life itself is enough of a gamble for me. Therefore, I don't play the lottery or gamble at all. I'm already pushing my luck as is! LOL

I have yet to go to any casino. I almost went with my daughters earlier this week but decided to wait until it didn't matter whether or not I lost twenty bucks. As far as the lottery, I played once or twice when I was younger and again a few years ago when sales that I processed kept ending or having the numbers 18 in them. I decided if I was ever going to play it again to do it that night, but I probably played the wrong thing as nothing good resulted from it. I only spent a buck though, so not too much was lost.

I just have fun playing at the casino and it doesn't hurt as I don't spend or lose at lot. I often break even at the minimum.

There's only a couple of time I've played the lottery. The first time a guy owed me a few dollars and wanted to pay me back by using the money to buy tickets. I won $3 which was what the guy owed me. When I went to cash the ticket in I was asked if I wanted to put it on more tickets. I thought, "why not?" None of the new tickets were winners so I lost the $3.. Then in the newspaper there was a coupon for a free ticket. For free I was going to try. Nothing again. I heard on the news one night that you are more likely to be killed by a vending machine falling on you than to win the grand lottery prize.
I have never played at the casino. One gal I worked with went to the casino every night after work. I asked how much she figured she lost and she said she won $50,000 one night. She paid off all her bills and put a down on a house. We all should be so lucky.

We are not all that lucky. When people win large sums at the casino I often wonder how much they lost over a period of time and it one can really call it winning.

Watch out. Bingo can get additive too. But you are relatively safe with bingo. The way I play it I don't see myself ever getting addicted plus you have to have an addictive personality - I think.

@Freelanzer I rarely get the chance to play but won big time on the 'jackpot' night on the Queen Mary. It paid for one fare! I played once or twice in Ireland too and won small amounts.

I played the lottery here in Israel with a friend but I was no good at it so we stopped. We never won anything.

That is great. I do not do it anymore because I am not good luck or have good luck with it.

I don't play Lotto, but occasionally gamble normally not for cash. I gamble less now, then in college when we would gamble on who was making meals. I didn't gamble for anything I couldn't afford to pay if I lost.

@Nawsheen It does go both ways few win big and the majority lose.
