Finally, the wonderful sound of rain

I have been sitting here for over an hour watching the dark clouds roll in, listening to the sound of thunder and watching it lightening. And now, finally the raindrops are making their little noise as they hit the roof and gutters. I am so happy.
The wind did come up and I had to shut my window as it was getting chilly and the rain was coming in. I hope that it continues all night. I know then that I should be able to sleep.

@averygirl72 Yes I do like those storms. I don't want to see destruction as I have seen enough of that in my life.

@velvet53 I've just watched and listened to the most glorious thunder storm through my open bedroom window. Lashings of rain, bursts of thunder, and it was far too warm to close the window - 15 degrees here tonight, and now that it's stopped the world feels fresh again.

@velvet53 Yes, it has cooled down. I've moved from shorts to long pants. When I looked at the temp this morning, 59, before I left for the pool, I thought only for a moment about taking a jacket, but didn't. When I got outside, it would have been a good idea, but it was starting to warm up a little by the time I got out of the pool. It's supposed to be 70 today, and from the looks of things, a light breeze too.

It's been raining the past week here. A few weeks back it would just rain in the afternoon or late at night. Lately though, it's been raining on and off the whole day. There's a storm approaching the country. Rainy season means a lot more chances of typhoons (or hurricanes) hitting our country so we'll be expecting a really wet month.

I'm glad you are getting rain that you need. We had steady rain for about two weeks and we were tired of it, but from yesterday we are seeing the sun, which makes us happy.

I just so love how you narrate the story of the eain your place. We also had the rain last night and nowcthe sun is shining. I think rain will once again shower us this afternoon. This have been the weather of our August and July.
