Why were you born?

My husband belongs to a number of online photographic sites which often run small competitions and/or challenges among its members. One of today’s challenges was to put up a photo to do with something I can’t remember but the end bit was ‘why you were born’ as in 'what's your purpose in life'.
I often get asked for my opinion on the choice of photo or whatever but this time I was asked ‘so why was I born’ – meaning why was Vince born, not me. Well, that was an easy one. ‘To make me happy’ was my immediate reply.
To my surprise this answer seemed to satisfy Vince and he has put up a photo of me – with an explanation of course. But it made me think. What was I born? I can’t come up with an immediate answer. I’ll need to think on it. So have you ever wondered why you were born? What is your purpose in life? It’s not really the time of year for such philosophical questions is it?

I feel I was born to take care of people, not like a nurse or doctor but to take care of them in other ways.
But I have noticed that when its time, those people depart from my life and I do not feel I need to be around them any longer, new people show up.

I love your answer to your husband. I really don't know why I was born. The Bible says that before I was born, God knew me. I believe He has a plan for everyone of us.

I was born for the purpose of perceiving the world with my own lenses. To explore all that life has to offer and be able to move forward after a long depressing day and waking up with unbeatable happiness that people will still be there for me and love me no matter what. To love them in return and be satisfied with my accomplishments and be responsible for my morals. Pursue all the plans that was set for me.

Some say we are born to make God happy. God is happy with our birth and our existence

No real reason, I suspect. I was the last of four kids. My youngest sister was 15 when I was born and I was the only boy, all just an accident of nature I think.

@nanette64 You're welcome - and I just said 'aww shucks' to someone recently too! It's not something I'd use anywhere else but here. Sometimes it just fits.
