What are you having for breakfast on this dreary Saturday morning?

It looks like it could rain at any moment, and it's a bit chilly out by California standards, but a friend and I are going on a short hike today.
I figured I'd better put something in my stomach (other than coffee). What I found in the fridge was some eggs and some Swiss cheese. I had a slightly tired yellow onion on the kitchen counter, so I combined those ingredients, cooked them in olive oil, and added a bunch of pepper. I didn't bother with any bread.
It was quite delicious, though I know I'll be hungry again in a couple of hours. What did you have for breakfast today? Was it satisfying? Send non-rainy thoughts my way--at least for the next three hours or so.

No breakfast. But had lunch. Made hamburger helper and ate half of it.

@Courtlynn Oh, send 'em my way. I always liked hamburger helper, though I didn't eat it that often.

My breakfast was quite some time ago. I had oatmeal, and I sprinkled some brown sugar and a few walnuts on top.

@snowy22315 That sounds healthy. I should figure out how to eat better breakfasts. I ony have time to prepare things like eggs with onion and cheese on weekends.

It started raining here about 20 minutes ago. It's not very wet, just consistently sprinkly.
I had scrambled eggs with a side of sauteed peppers, onions, and mushrooms (the mushrooms were fresh, but the peppers and onions were from a frozen blend I have in the freezer) and some buttered whole wheat toast. Oh, and a giant mug of coffee, which feels much too small today.

We got our hike in (above Berkeley) and only got sprinkled on. Here in Pleasant Hill, the pavement is still dry. Your breakfast sounds pretty similar to mine. I should score some green pepper and mushrooms. They can go in just about anything I cook here.

@TheHorse They were on sale at Grocery Outlet for 99¢ a package, so I got about 6 and stashed them.in the freezer. They come in handy!

I skipped breakfast this morning and had lunch. I had a slice of pizza left from dinner last night for lunch. Your breakfast sounds yummy, enjoy your hike.

When I read your post I decided to do something like this for a late lunch. Delicious. I hope you have a day as beautiful as mine is now.

@marguicha That sounds great to. Maybe I will make one tomorrow. I have a hard boiled egg every morning but an omelet will be a nice change.

Sorry about the non-rainy thought. It's raining down here, too, and I'm delighted. I think it's supposed to last until about 8 PM. Would you believe I didn't have time for breakfast until 3 PM? I just finished it. I had a banana and a few almonds about 10: 30. Then I cooked what Hubby will need for breakfast and lunch this next week. After that I spend time online looking for data to convince Hubby not to deal with someone I think is a scam artist. He needed to make a quick decision. By the time all that was done I finally had time to mix some beaten eggs, chopped broccoli, and grated cheese together in a skillet and scramble them. I ate it with an orange and a few more salted almonds with a cup of green tea.

I usually skip breakfast at weekend. I know that is not a good habit. I often eat eggs and cheese for breakfast on weekdays.

I am very boring when it comes to breakfast. I normally have toast smothered with peanut butter and honey. Occasionally I will have Weetabix ... do you have that where you are? Your breakfast looks far more appetising.

@TheHorse It's wholegrain cereal that you can have with hot or cold milk and very rich in fibre and vitamins. I love it and add fruit to it.

@TheHorse I had a mix of chex, oatmeal squares and grape nuts. I wrote a post about it yesterday asking if any of you like to mix cereals.

Looks good and wholesome to me!
I had cereal with milk, and then began the Saturday driving chore: 2 kids to Saturday school, shopping, a coffee and a pasteis de nata in there somewhere, then collect one kid from Saturday school and get home in time to take yet another kid to a friend's birthday party... and it was raining most miserably for much of it.
