Would you tell people if you were leaving the site?

Some people like to inform others if they have decided to leave the site probably because they have been here a long time and made many friends so feel it's the right thing to do. Others prefer to slip away quietly without any fuss.
In the past I have left but never told anyone because I hadn't been here long enough for anyone to notice and felt a little embarrassed that I hadn't lasted very long.
Would you say if you were leaving?

I wouldn't because I know no one would care. I am not one of the popular members here perhaps if I was I would. I have taken months off at a time and no one knew I was gone.

@Freelanzer I felt like that when I left and it happened so often that I would have felt really silly if I had mentioned it. I've been here since the end of February this time which is really good for me.

@sprite1950 I have not done that as I have a school page there which I have created. I am not sure if I can transfer it to anyone else. But I have stopped posting there.

I notice people do worry about others when they are not seen for a while which is nice.

I think if you've been here a while and made friends you would want to say goodbye.

I'd first speak with some of my My Lot friends, to see what they think. It's a tough decision that I've been thinking seriously about doing. Not because I know a lot of people here. Instead, because of my other responsibilities that often get pushed aside, by me.

I don't think I would write a post, I would probably send private messages to people I knew best.

I guess it kind of depends. I think i would probably just leave quietly. I don't like good byes. But I might but something that says like I might be leaving so if anyone want to still have contact then I would add people I like on social media.

You are absolutely right; it all depends. Circumstances will vary which will determine if an announcement or a quiet departure is necessary.

@sprite1950 not too hard I hope
seriously though i've found my online life here if that is what it's called something like a roller coaster ride so goodbye's are difficult to come up with. A scream?

You mean they were glad to see the back of you?. I've flitted back and forth many times but never stayed long. I didn't really put in the effort like I have this time. I should make $14 by the end of tomorrow

@suni51 I never had that before which is why I didn't stay long. This time it is different which is why I've been here for a month and not fed up yet,

@sprite1950 "I should make $14 by the end of tomorrow" Great going - but I can not say the same and there is no chance to say for me in coming months. In fact, I am missing my old gang that would simply jump on my discussions and keep discussing for months together.

No, I wouldn't. The longest time I was away from mylot was almost a year I think and I got emails from those who I interacted with a lot and I informed there why I was away. Plus, when someone is missing here, I don't look for them. I wonder in my head but I don't make a discussion about it because I know they have a good reason for not being here and I don't have to make a big deal about it like I don't want to make a big deal of me being gone when that happens.

@sprite1950 People would still respond though. But when I see a discussion of people leaving, I don't bother commenting on that. Why should I when I know nobody would read it.

@toniganzon I suppose it's an easy response to make, It doesn't require much effort to say goodbye to someone even if you don't know them. I don't know if I would say goodbye to someone I had never interacted with though.

leaving and no one responded

even if i'm not popular here, yes, i still will and tell them i appreciate them and our interactions.
i will add that i don't have fb and let them decide if they'll pm me their email or snail mail address if they want to keep in touch.
i would be so touched if one or two did.

@sprite1950 yes, i've been here a while but not a regular, really. even in the old mylot, i was among the slow earners because i was more of a reader and observer.
the post would more about saying thank you to everyone, especially to the people behind mylot.

I meant MyLot but it could apply to any site. I would definitely say if I was leaving ForumCoin because I left for a short time once before without saying anything and Cyberfreak messaged me to see if I was ok. I thought that was really nice.

A few of us feel that way. I don't really like a fuss but it's as Anna says, sometimes when people disappear others worry about them so it's probably best just to tell a regular member so that the information can be passed on.
