The humour and wit of Koalemos (@Asylum).

I'm devastated to hear of the death of Asylum (Koalemos), but am grateful to @BelleStarr for finding out about it. I thought you might enjoy seeing examples of his wit in the following exchange on my poem 'Road Rage'..
Koalemos...
Despite the innocence you claim
I suspect that you were to blame
It is not your road
So use the Highway Code
And stop pushing in without shame
To get home quicker you did strive
And through the traffic did duck and dive
This just causes congestion
So I have one question
Why are women allowed to drive?
Jabo...
You are wrong, I drive very well,
among the elite, truth to tell,
that man was just rude
offensive and crude,
he was the driver from hell.
Koalemos...
Here we go with all the excuses
After giving him all those abuses
You should be aware
Once you start to swear
Your driving standard reduces
Jabo...
T'wasn't me that was doing the swearing,
it was just the horn I was blaring,
but he used a bad word
that I shouldn't have heard,
I'll admit to doing some glaring.
Koalemos...
One fact that you cannot conceal
Is that a woman behind the wheel
Is a serious danger
To each passing stranger
No wonder he uttered such spiel
Jabo...
Men think that they own the road
are far too quick to explode
at ladies demure
who are for sure
obeying the rules of the road.
Koalemos...
It is women that cause road rage
As the war on male drivers they wage
No woman can
Drive as well as a man
They just have not reached that stage
Jabo...
Why you old misogynist you!
Put this in your pipe and go chew,
lady drivers are fine
they don't cross the line
that men quite frequently do.
Koalemos...
Few women ever use the dipstick
Before deciding to engage the gearstick
So they block up the road
And end up being towed
While using the mirrors for lipstick.

I was looking through one of my old posts and got such a laugh from re-reading some of the responses and comments there, that I wondered if you would find this...

I remember the time he thought I had tried to poison him by recommending Kinnie to him while on one of his infrequent holidays, to Malta at the time.
The Maltese "Kinnie" is a local soft drink made with bitter oranges and aromatic herbs - I used to love it, Barry, as we discovered, hated it.
RIP Barry, a keen eye for a pun and a wry sense of humour that will be missed.

@jaboUK I always liked his avatar of his feather pen. His pen has come to a rest. I was just reading over some of his many discussions and shredding a few tears for a man who was loved by many.

Oh my word above. This was not the post I wanted to see. I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed by many of us here. It is terribly sad and so sad that his last year or so was not quite what he thought it would be in his retirement years. I know he will be sitting on a cloud composing his cheeky little quips somewhere so that he can catch up with us when our time comes. Rest in Peace Barry!

@jaboUK Yes Janet. I did not get any notification on facebook so this was all news to me. At least he is no longer suffering which is a blessing. You know I don't think he ever realised how popular he was. He was always teasing me about going away. He used to message me to say What not again!!!! LOL I used to tell him that was rich coming from him! Good fun banter eh!

That is hilarious Janet, so much fun the two of you had and you were both so good at it. He will sadly be missed but I am glad you have these posts to look back at. Maybe you should send a copy of a couple to his family, they might enjoy reading what he did in his spare time and understand why so many loved him on here.
