A mountain of snow

Snow is a common thread running through many MyLot discussions. I always reply it looks so magical having never seen the white soft blanket surrounding the place. In my time in Mylot have also come to understand the other side of snowfall, the difficulties it creates.
Anyway , the parts of my country that fall in the Himalayan ranges do experience snowfall. And this is when the adventurous go there for the snow experience.
My young neighbours had signed up for a snow trek about two months ago. They had to undergo physical fitness training and had to be declared medically fit before they were included in the trekking group. And the shopping was quite a big affair for tents, snow goggles, thermal wear, the whole paraphernalia.
Anyway they are back from Leh. Anxious moments for the family though they were warned in advance when the group went off the grid.
Their reaction, "Very very tough, will not recommend to all but WORTH EVERY MINUTE".
Photo..The one they shared

@responsiveme I don't mind the fireplace and hot chocolate but no snow for me lol. Just thinking of it makes me feel like I am in the freezer.

@responsiveme We've been on our quests, too, and never again! So glad we did them, however.

For us, (those who never experienced it) is an exciting experience. On the other hand those who are facing the same, very hard to deal with it. I read, in Srinagar, two weeks ago, trucks and other vehicles stopped due to heavy snowfall. It can't move ahead due to the slippery road.

The photo looks great, but I am glad I am not there. We have snow here and that is enough for me

@responsiveme I understand that. It is different when you haven't experienced it before. If I lived in a country where snow wasn't common I might do the same. Here it is a bit too common and I prefer to hide inside when the weather is cold.
