I wasn't on MyLot a lot today although I was at home all day. I did a little work outside today since the weather was gorgeous. So what did I do? I worked in the chicken coop. I had one nesting box that needed repairing. I got it along with the flock of chickens I bought last year from a friend. One of the boxes had a hole in the bottom wire toward the back of the box. So I put in some new wire to fix it all up. I also had to put up a couple of strips of wood to block entrance to two of the nextboxes to keep the hens from rolling eggs out onto the ground and then eating them. They will do this if they get bored. My next project was to clean out my grow-out cage for the baby chicks I have now. They grow up quickly and it will soon be time for them to go outside. The temperature is hitting in the 70's and low 80's again but I don't know what the next storm on Thursday will bring. We have already been told to expect high winds, hail, bad thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. So the chicks will stay inside until after the storm for sure. That is about all I got done other than routine things like cooking, dishes, etc. Photo: Camellia bloom, my own.
