What I did on my weekend....

Happy Tuesday morning from this side of the planet I am all done and ready to work. My online classes start in another 15 minutes.
I was not much here on Saturday. Though weekends are the days when I can be more active mylotting. Well I did not do much of other chores too. I just wanted to relax and do some art. So I spent a good amount of time doing this project that you see in this picture. . And I completed the left over bit on Sunday before my bed time. I am happy to complete one spontaneous project that I took and it came out so well
Well to give you a little background, I have been asked to do few art work with children in our school to increase their concentration and sitting tolerance. Well I have done a lot of art therapy with all age groups as part of healing and counseling sessions. And I have been given different age groups on different days of week.
Doing art through virtual class is a bit challenging. I chose Zentangle, Mandala and some basic wood work for this academic year.
And thought of starting with zentagle art. So while going through papers and artwork from my previous years work, I got an urge to do something in Zentagle.
Well this is the art that I made on my switch panel using some permanent markers and acrylic paint. It looks awesome
And for today, I have few children of 8-10 years. We will do some simple patterns to start with. I will try to share it later.
Bye for now. Catch you later. Enjoy mylotting!

Beautiful art work. One more side of your talent. Art is not my cup of tea I am more of a maths man. I avoided all sorts of art work including writing of composition and letters which were a part of pre S.S.C. studies. After that I did not have to bother myself with that. I was forced to take up the writing once I started my carrier.

Here I am good at both Maths and Art. My extra responsibility this academic year in school is art therapy with restless children and helping few students of 8, 9 and 10th Grade who are weak in Maths.
My husband does not like arts and literature. He is extraordinary with Maths. Yes he does enjoy carpentry. I think even woodwork is a sort of art.
My elder daughter is also good with Maths and Science and she has scored a perfect 100 in both subjects in her 10th board. She is exceptionally good in art. She also likes to write and has already published two novels on Wattpad under a different pen name.
So I guess interests can come in different combination.

The switch panel is metallic and not wood. I used acrylic paint and permanent marker. The only issue was that I had to stand and do it as the panel is fixed in wall. So it was a bit inconvenient.

Your art is really amazing as i also like art but i use software for it. You mentioned mandala so you use any software for it?
I thought i will get time for weekend as busy in weekdays with work but still not get time which i want. I agree with you as learn through virtual classes is little bit tough.

@arunima25 It's interesting how slowly, slowly we can start to learn a skill then refine it over time until it becomes something really helpful.

I learnt it more and more by attending few workshops and training sessions. When I did it I found good response and improvement. Also it was enjoyed by all. So I continued doing it, kept refining my skills and attended more sessions on that.

@JudyEv Yes it is. I guess life is all about moving on and keep learning each day. Even after being in this profession for a decade, everyday I come across something new that needs to be learnt and implemented.

Zentagle is all about lines and patterns..more of just doodling. This too has therapeutic effects like Mandala. I am glad that you liked it.
