Yes, you should, or ideally, that's what you do. But there are sometimes that make us have to eat in front of our computers, with certain reasons. @sinari I don’t use a laptop not everyone use them. Most people my age or younger use there smartphones or tables to do everything online. You can still make them dirty with food and drinks being spilled on them or near them. The ports are pretty easy to get dirty with food, dry skin and so on.

So since I'm doing this once, then of course I'm very careful so that the food doesn't fall or spill onto the table and contaminate the keyboard, or the laptop, or the computer.
