Buy The Booze

Well, not just the booze itself. Buy the companies that make it and sell it. Because one thing people do not do less of when the economy is in the tank and inflation is high is drink.
It's a fact.
In fact, even during the recent Covid times, with massive unemployment, booze stocks boomed. And they will too now. People drink more when they are broke, you know.
Companies to look at?
On the beer side of things I continue to think that Anheuser-Busch, or InBev (BUD) is best poised with the most popular brands, including economical ones. On the liquor side I would be most interested in Diageo (DEO) and Constellation Brands (STZ). I actually prefer STZ in this space since it has some great and popular brands and is trading big-time below its true value.
If you want to go for something in the malt beverage space, I would pick Boston Beer Company (SAM) which also produces the popular Sam Adams beer. They have brands like Truly, Twisted Tea, Angry Orchard and soon will be making a hard Mountain Dew for Pepsico.
Be thirsty, my friends, and please invest responsibly.

That's true. People drink for every occassion and every mood, and it's a market that's not going to die anytime soon. We could be trying to collect change out of the couch, and, my husband would find a way to drink.

@porwest I can't disagree with you on that one, and I don't drink.

I only have pennies to invest. I lent my money to my children. They give me interests every month, better than the bank.

@porwest Myy children were not brought up like that. Claudia has been paying a special health insurance for me for years. And many times, when Tania comes to visit, she picks up the vaccuum and starts working. They wanted to pay me in a short while but I preferred to take only the interests so that I could still have money just in case.

The problem is, I live in Kentucky, and we’re notorious for making our own.
