Checking in to let you know I am still alive from my surgery on Friday July 1st.
The Neurosurgeon had to do more than previously expected. Went inside my brain and cauterized (burned) the cerebral tonsils. Hopefully they will now stay out of the brain stem.
Lots of pain and throwing up. Was in ICU three days. Came home Sunday night. Sleeping in recliner two weeks. Cannot move my head side to side or bend for at least two weeks.
Lots of new meds. Pain killers, muscle relaxers and steroids. Others as well. Hope to finish most of these in two weeks.
Return appointment next week for suture removal of my six inch incision on the back of my neck. Head is very shaky as well as hands. Doctor said to take it very slow and easy. Challenging but I will follow his orders.
I received a surprise package today and it totally made my day. Was not expecting and will write more later. A few stories to share. I had someone type this for me. Hard to focus with the shakes. This too shall pass. A day at a time.
Will post again as I can. And I am taking screenshots of notifications in hopes of catching up when I can.
And a link if anyone is interested about the surgery, in case you missed it from my original post.

You have been on my mind all weekend. I am so glad you made it through the surgery and are back home. Let your body get all the rest it needs, and (speaking from experience) if you need to type something, try to use voice-to-text instead.

Watch out for The Dude. JJ posted how Scar decided that he (JJ) needed to give blood and started clawing him.
Hope you feel better quickly.

Too funny. My cats have been a little confused. They are used to seeing me always doing something. Now to see me walking around so slow, they are like, what is wrong with our Momma. That is what I think they are thinking anyway. They notice everything.

@CarolDM I am thrilled to hear from you, Heck, moving slowly is nothing compared to if you had not been here any longer, I sure hope you get back to regular before long, and your cats are lucky you have returned, My kittens keep trying to escape each time I open the front door, but then I pick them up and say what would they do if they did not have Grandmama to feed and love them, Virtual hugs to you and so glad you are home and on the mend,

Sounds like quite an extensive surgery and I wish you as speedy a recovery as can be expected.

@CarolDM just keep in mind how many of us love you. As they say Patience Is A Virtue but I tend to be more stubborn like you. I'm very glad you survived your surgery and that you'll be fine given time.

None of us likes surgery and recovery, I know I just dread it. I hope you heal quickly and well, Carol.
