Two of my favourite ornaments

A myLot member suggested we share photos of our favourite Christmas ornaments.
The pair of ornaments in the photo were both given to me when I was helping with data entry in the archive department of a school. They are examples of ‘cloisonné’ which involves creating designs within patterns. These are made by pasting or soldering copper or bronze wires onto an item then filling between the wires with coloured-glass paste or enamel, which is then coloured with metallic oxide.
This little bird and bell bring me pleasure each Christmas when it comes time to decorate our tree.

Oh I love them and that is neat to learn how they are made. I saw a snowman decoration like this today at the thrift store where my daughter works. I almost bought it. Everything is 25% off now. Next week it will be 50% off I think and may go to the one of of town where my husband works. I’ll shop there, hide a geocache in a little free library and visit my husband at work or see my niece and great nephew. I love planning outings. It’s supposed to be a wicked storm Sunday so I’ll have to see how things are the following days.

@JudyEv I was just sitting here the other night thinking I could make a popcorn garland for the tree. I could dye some popcorn. It sounds messy, but I have a small tree. I have never tried it before. It has a garland now, but another one wouldn't hurt.

@JudyEv - I love your ornaments. I am also very sentimental about my Christmas ornaments. Each one has special meaning to me. I have not been too active in a while, and I thought I would stop by your feed and say "Hi" and wish you and Vince a Merry Christmas.

@DeborahDiane Thanks for the email and attachments. I've replied now. I write perhaps 4 letters each Christmas and send another perhaps 4 emails. If we didn't get in touch each Christmas we'd lose touch all together.

Both ornaments look marvelous. They have unique designs and patterns.
"cloisonne" word would however, take some time to memorize !
Do you keep these in a box or some other place?

@JudyEv I've often wished we could leave our tree up all year. But I wouldn't have the pleasure of seeing the ornaments one by one again.

@1creekgirl That's true. It's worth the effort just for the pleasure of unwrapping the ornaments.

Very attractive looking and unique ornaments! The colors are nice. I find my favorite ornaments are the ones handed down to me from my parents or ones bought at a Christmas specialty shop. Not only are they unique but carry special memories too.

I hope they're not too heavy for the tree.

Those are so beautiful. Sadly, my youngest daughter left state with all my Christmas decorations including my favorite dove. They were in her Christmas area since I didn't have storage for them. I bought a couple in Alaska but they are not favorites. I'm keeping positive to have another some day.
