Hungry For a Month

For the month of December, I’m only spending $30 on food. The only exception will be things that are freely available to the average person (salt taken from restaurants, sauce packets from Taco Bell, free coffee from an office). Buying in advance is fine, but at the end of the month, it all has to add up to $30 or less.

Why do you want to starve yourself? You have to eat or your going to get really sick. salt, and ketchup packets aren't enough.

I think I could live on $30.00 a month but I would be eating alot of pastas and mac and cheese and ramen noodles which I buy anyhow love them. But if a person does it right and doesnt have to have a bunch of high costing meats and junk food they could live off $30.00 a month a box of spaghetti and a can of sauce is less than a dollar fifty and will last atleast 3-5 meals for a person and alot of cheap canned veggies they can last 2 meals so I think if you did it just right youcould do it and when you have a craving for meat go to a friends or families house for dinner. Also a bag of potatoes they are good source of potassium and will be good to have by itself. with a 99 cent tub of butter. well you probably have done this already so how did it turn out?

I hope this is just an experiment to see how cheaply you can get by.Ramon noodles are like 10 packs for a dollar here. Also cans of tuna and big bags of frozen vegetables are cheap.Put them all together and they make a decent 'goolash'.Good luck and let us know how it comes out.

I am sorry about that. I tried to add a word in I forgot and deleted some instead.
I meant to say..If you are only feeding yourself on 30 dollars. Than that will be easy. As I am spending about 200 dollars a month on a family of sevan. The thing I noticed that is cheapest. I sto make meals from scratch. And meal you make you can strech to two or three. Possible more.

are you joking ? Why wouldn't you eat ? If you can pay for an internet connection you can surely afford some food ! Can't you save money from something else ? To me it sounds like a stupid idea, but maybe i am wrong...

I hope that you have a lot of family and friends who will feed you during December or else where you live food is very cheap. However accepting meals from them, as well as getting sauce, coffee etc from other places is a bit like cheating. There is no way that I could live on $1 per day for food and I am a very careful shopper plus we do have vegetables growing as well as some preserved fruit etc.
Good luck to you and perhaps you will let us know the reason for trying to live on only $30 worth of food for a month.

Y r u going to do so?????? Its a new type of diet for me. I live in Pakistan and Pakistani 60 rupees r equal to $1. It means that i'll have 1800 Pakistani Rupees if i'll too do it and i think that these 1800 Rupees r enough for food of a month. Keep on working hard on mylot!!! U'll get good income from here!!!!!

Good luck eating $30 worth of food in 1 month. That seems like it would be very little food. Like $7.50 per week and then the extras you can get at fast food restaurants. I wonder if I could do that. Why is it that you are doing this? Struggling financially? Or is it to spend more on Christmas?
