I Received a Scam E-mail

I thought it was for real. I learned about the scam when I went to Best Buy to stop an automatic payment from my account. Best Buy told me the e-mail showed him was a scam.
I also learned from my neighbor I was with that it was on the news about the Geek Squad scam from Best Buy.
I was happy to learn it was a scam, and I had nothing to worry about.
It seems to be a big problem right now. If you get anything from The Geek Squad, ignore it and report it to the Better Business Bureau. I just did. The Geek Squad isn't the only one. There are three. I think my friend also told me people are receiving scams from Amazon. Be aware.
Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

To help you avoid this in the future, If you didn't request an e-mail, Ie: sign up for something, subscribe to something or otherwise do something that would generate an e-mail, assume it's a scam and verify with the assumed sender. Call the company or chat through their offical website. You lucked out, but a lot of people don't think much of emails.

@just4him Scammers know how to scare older people who simply don't know better. This type of scam is popular because older people are prone to forgetfulness, and that's what the scammer's counting on.

I was informed that I had a delivery waiting, at UPS. To contact them with my personal information. There's one from a government office(supposedly), wanting to make sure my SS# and personal information are correct. One time all my e-mail friends got a nasty e-mail, from my e-mail address!

@snowy22315 The spam and crap all seem to go straight to spam. This one didn't.

Glad you went to the store to take care of it and found out. I ignore emails unless I am expecting something

If I see something being promised that is too good to be true I know it's a scam for sure,

My Mom almost lost her entire savings due to a fake Geek Squad. Thank goodness that scam was caught on time.

I'm leery of all the email I get and I'm so afraid I'll fall for a scam. It's terrible that these scammers will do anything to get personal information. Good thing you found out it was a scam. I hadn't heard about the Geek Squad one so thanks for the heads up.

You're welcome. I got another one from Norton this morning. I don't use Norton, so I knew it was a scam.

There are dozens if not hundreds of scam emails. I get a dozen a day. Be careful! Look at the return address on the email. That will usually tell you.

I also get these kinds of scams. The one I get most often is from the Publishing Clearing House saying that I won a sweepstake. It has been over twenty years since I have entered one of those.

We also get a lot of scams here and it is usually done through texts, chats, and calls. A new scam being done today was being given a supposed notification through a text on having to pay a fine at the Land Transportation Office for violating a certain traffic rule, and that non-payment of that fine can lead to prosecution of a case. To pay the send fine, we were supposed to send it to a certain number.
These scams are however apparent to us because they are just using random phone numbers to send those text messages.
