I Had FOMO

You guys remember when people would say they had FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)? I had a bit of that today. My 8 year old nephew and almost 5 year old niece got baptized today, and this morning I knew I couldn’t make the 2 1/2 drive. So I called my dad and stepmom and they went without me. Fortunately, the church recorded it and put it on Facebook so our family could see it. Annelyn went first, and then it was Hudson’s turn. They asked him if it was true that he accepted Jesus into his heart and wanted to be baptized. He shook his head no!
He was nervous about the water, and as soon as they asked him again he said yes, but you can hear the entire congregation just laugh when he said no. They had Amyra stand up there with them to make them feel less nervous (they aren’t used to “big” church.)
I really wish I could have seen it in person, and it makes me a little teary, but I’m thankful I saw it in some capacity. And, I’m thankful it happened.
When was the last time you had FOMO? It’s something I only seen to get when it involves my family.

I don't think ever. I know when I'm going to miss out on something and while I might be sad, I'm not afraid because I know it's going to happen. I'll be disappointed for a while, but then.... I get over and move on.

@AmbiePam Yeah. Missing out is part of life. And we just roll with the emotions it might envoke.

I felt it with my son, like everyday for as long as there's school.. School days are though days for me.. My son has ADHD combined (but also mild and controllable) but was sent to regular school since it was the doctor's advice. So yeah my FOMO for him attacks everyday, I always think of him whenever I am at work

@Hanbinandaeyo No, that wouldn’t be a reason he would have ADHD. He would have developed that anyway from what I understand.

They are such cuties! Thanks to technology, I'm glad you were able to see their baptism. I've never heard the term FOMA before, but I know I've experienced it. I kinda felt that way with Facebook when I got into it . . . I'd stay up late into the night because I didn't want to miss out on anyone's news . Beauty sleep called and put some sense into me .

I hadn't heard the term before, but I missed church two weeks in a row. I missed out, even though I got the sermon on YouTube. It's not the same as being there.
I'm sorry you missed their baptism in person. I'm glad you could see it on FB.

Not sure but it hits from time to time. They are really cute kids Someday it may have to be explained to them what they actually agreed to

I am sorry that you missed being there in person.i am glad you got to watch it!
The last time i missed something like that was this last spring. My grandson is on a baseball team that was in the state finals for his division. He worked so hard to get to where he is on the team. The day of the big playoff game, my son had emergency surgery and I didn’t feel like I could leave him. I saw it online but wish I could have been in two places at once!!
