Dressing Up.

How many people still 'dress up' when they go out? - whether going out shopping, for entertainment, business, or leisure. I don't see many people doing it these days.
Back in the day, women in particular were always well put together when they stepped out. Handbags matched, shoes matched, hair well done, - what happened?
When was the last time you 'dressed up' and what was the occasion?

I haven’t gotten really dressed up in a long while, but I do get semi dressy for certain occasions.

It's been awhile. I couldn't tell you. I guess I try to look put together when I go to an upscale apartment complex. I want to go in like someone who belongs there.

Believe me, I wear the same thing, the same outfit nearly everyday..it is comfy..now I have four different pairs of the same clothes..so they are clean.

@RebeccasFarm Those "rags" look good on you and they are clean - hence the compliments.

I go to the extent of new shoes and a matching purse, usually with a new dress, every time that we go to a wedding.
I feel it is the least that I can do to show respect for the couple who invited me to share in their wedding day.
Otherwise, I have specific clothing for wearing to the office once a month, for church, for shopping, for going out to visit family and for staying at home.
I haven't really gone all out with all new clothing since last Christmas when we went to a big family party.

My sense of 'dressed up' may not be like the 'back in the day' look where everything was perfectly coordinated and formal—except for special occasions, of course. But you won’t ever see me going out looking sloppy or like some people who arrive at the mall in what looks like loungewear. I've even seen people wearing literal pajamas to the mall. Even if their pajamas are new and pretty, I don’t think they’re meant to be worn outside, no matter how trendy or nice they are. I always make sure to look decent and presentable and to dress appropriately, even for the most casual errands. It’s nice to feel put together, even if it’s not as formal or coordinated as it used to be.

@Kandae11 I don't know about people nowadays. They seem to be getting too comfortable with how they dress, to the point where they don't really care about looking presentable when they go out. It seems like there’s less concern about appearance and more focus on comfort and its like giving the impression that its okay to look like that in public. Looking way too 'relaxed' in public. If you know what I mean. The generation of today is just so different. They have a different attitude!

I love dressing up if I get the opportunity . . . but those days are kinda rare. I had the "mommy" look for a long while but got tired of. So now I don't exactly get dolled up, but I do try to dress nicely on a daily basis. I try to make myself look good .

I like to dress up, sometimes more carefully than others, but I always try to look good.

I also have the impression that people are dressing more casually than before. Last time I dressed up was to attend my nephew's wedding which was one year ago.
