A Timely Break

Sometimes, a break comes just when we need it, even if it’s because of a storm.. Today’s class suspension due to the storm came at just the right time for me. Honestly, I’m relieved for the break because I’ve been feeling under the weather for two days due to a sore throat. If we had classes today, I would have struggled to teach. I don’t like being absent because it just makes things harder for me in the long run. I prefer to be there, keeping an eye on my students and fulfilling my responsibilities at school. But sometimes, isn’t it important to listen to what our bodies are telling us and take the rest we need?

Yes, burn out is a thing. Often times getting sick is our body's warning system to ensure we don't over do things.

You're so right, Kayla. Sometimes we need that nudge to remind us to take care of ourselves. Thanks for the support!

@kaylachan It’s so easy to push ourselves too hard, isn’t it? But those forced breaks can be a blessing in disguise. I’m learning to appreciate them more.

@annierose Not a problem. I, too have risked burnout and had to force myself to take a break.

I am glad that you are. As for me, I need to work online rain or shine. It is not also excuse because we need to use generator if there is a power outage.

@annierose As of now, I am working online and do not want to dare to go out. I am expecting that the typhoon will leave our country early in the morning tomorrow.
