Spot the difference. I chose the title because you probably won't see much difference from my first photo of my new vertical garden.
I’ve filled another 6 or 8 pockets but it doesn’t really look much different. Several in the bottom row should hang in time. Nothing has been planted long enough to be established yet.
We had two sunny days while I was away and I came home to find some of the plants a bit distressed. I will need to make sure I can keep the water up to them, which might be a bit of a challenge. Maybe in twelve months’ time, the whole thing will be full of succulents and cacti!

@JudyEv Yes, that is the beautiful silver plant.
If it comes back next year, it will give you pretty yellow blooms.
I am not sure if yours would, as your winters would not have freezing temperatures as ours do.
I like that plant because it is relatively cheap to buy and it comes back, and it is a hearty and nice looking plant.

@JudyEv Hey, I would never intentionally be unkind to you!
I’m sure in no time it will rival the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Can imagine how it will look in a couple of months from now Your hard work shows.
Just a question. Will the wall not mess up with the drainage?

It is looking fine to me and well perhaps watering could be a challenge. I do not see a significant difference between the photos as well . I did see a few videos where there put a hole on the plastic bottle cap and have it inverted with a few arrangements and makes it an automated watering system. I see it useful especially when we are going out for sometime. Maybe you can check on that idea and see if it can be set up for the vertical garden. Perhaps in 6 to 12 months , there will be a marked difference and then the comparison photos would be interesting!

Interesting idea, probably better suited to a covered balcony or porch so that the rain doesn't drown everything. Oh! Wait a minute. You're in Oz where it doesn't rain...

I'm not a very good gardener either but I hope to improve over time. I'm sure you will too.
