In about an hour, we’re driving to the airport to pick up a couple who live in the village. They’ve been to England for six weeks visiting her sister and other friends. They’re flying non-stop and I think they’re coming business class. I hope so as they’re in their 80s and it’s a very long time to be stuck in a plane. They are a lovely couple and we’ve become good friends with them. The photo shows them at an Easter games night in the clubhouse. We were given a small string bag which held a number of small eggs. We had to unwrap an egg without taking it out of the bag. It was a fun game but surprisingly difficult. By the time L got his egg unwrapped it had just about melted from the warmth of his fingers. As you can see, his wife is itching to help.

That sounds like a fun game. I imagine one would need rather long nails to achieve that task without melting them.

Judging by the looks on their faces, they enjoyed the game. I hope that they have a smooth flight and that your trip is uneventful also. You will be happy to have them back and to be able to hear all about their travels.

We didn't know them before they came to the village but their daughter lives in Esperance where we spent 7 years and we know lots of the same people. It's a small world.

We get on really well with them. The six of us meet after each movie night for coffee and a chat.

It's Social Night at the clubhouse tonight and they have a steel band performing for a while. We're not going as there is still covid around and we're staying away from crowds.

They're back now but weren't able to come business class. But they're fine. A couple of days rest and they'll be as good as gold.

They weren't able to. They looked pretty shattered when they got off the boat but they are tough old people. I'm sure they'll bounce back.

A nonstop flight from England to Perth is long, especially for the elderly. Games to keep the mind active are the best way to go. It is a bit taxing for me though!
