We had two days away in the motor-home

I’m sorry I didn’t let my myLot friends know that I’d be missing for a few days. We took our new (to us) motor-home away for two nights to get used to it and to get any bugs ironed out, which means fix any small problems.
We chose a bad time really as the temperatures were in the very high 30sC which a few degrees over 100F. We had air-conditioning in the cabin but it was too hot to get out and explore anything much. Once we had cooked into a caravan park after 2pm, we had electricity and could then run the A/C in the living area. A pipe under the bathroom sink gave way so Vince will need to fix that.
We’re home now and facing more high temperatures. It’s has put us off doing any camping in the height of summer, that’s for sure.
The photo is from the Collie Museum which I’ll write more about later.

Those are some beautiful artistic vases.
Sorry the weather could not let you explore much. But at least you got to use it and find that the pipe needs repair. Hope that the weather condition improves and you can enjoy it.
What would be the best time to visit your country for tourists??

In the middle of the Australian "Winter" it cools all the way down to 98F/37C, so I would guess that's the best time to take a trip there.

And now, we know why Vince and Judy love to travel to other countries so much.

@arunima25 @DaddyEvil It's the middle of summer for us and can be very hot but from April on is usually very pleasant. June/August is winter but we still have nice days in among wet and cold ones. Some locals travel north in the winters where it's a bit warmer and south in the summer to catch cooler days.

I’m sure sorry it was so terribly hot, and for the broken pipe. It’s a good thing to take it on some short runs first like you are doing, to check it all out.

@MarieCoyle It's a Winnebago and we have all the books. We were also shown everything but it's hard to remember some of it. We checked the manuals a few times or pulled up information on the phone so it hasn't been too difficult really.

Was it a custom built motor home? If it’s a regular brand you can find at a dealership that sells motor homes, you should be able to find an owner’s manual for it online if there wasn’t one left in the motor home. The picture you posted of it was really nice and appeared to be well taken care of.

I'm surprised you guys even tried to go camping with the temps so hot! I'm glad the only real problem was a pipe needing to be replaced!

Men will be men and I'd want to try out a new-to-me vehicle as soon as I had the time, too. Foolish or not.
Thank goodness you insisted on a camping ground as the first trip destination. Vince would have tried to brave the heat.

Poor guy! No wonder he wanted to take it out no matter the temps. You made him wait to unwrap the new gift.

@DaddyEvil In fairness, we bought it back in November so no wonder he was getting a bit antsy.

Those vases are gorgeous!!
I remember the first little camper we bought when the girls were all small. The girls and I took a solo trip to a campground not far away from our home for the 4th of July. My husband had to work that day, but didn't mind pulling the trailer there for us and then meeting us there when he got off. Thank goodness the campground had a pool because that little camper was SO hot. My hubby drove up and wondered where we were all at. He finally found us at the pool!

It's good you took the caravan out for a short trial run and discovered the problem with the pipe. i'm sure you were a bit disappointed that it was too hot to do much exploring.
Those vases are really pretty and remind me of ones my great aunt had.

I’m glad you had a nice trip, and sorry you’re finding problems. Good that they’re “minimal” thus far, That’s lovely art work on the vases.

Sorry the high temps ruined your short vacation, at least the motor-home seems to be working just fine and that's great! You can start daydreaming about your next trip in a few months.
