There are songs that define a career. This one is Sonny & Cher’s defining song. Seriously: can you name another Sonny & Cher song? (The only one I can come up with off the top of my head is “The Beat Goes On.”) More than that, though, it defines the mid-60s in a lot of ways (“so let ‘em say your hair’s too long”).
Sixty years later, it still sounds good.

@FourWalls I used to ask my mom all the time what those days were like. She could go into great detail, but my dad offered nothing.

Love this song and love Groundhog Day, so don’t mind either on repeat! 
The only other Sonny & Cher song that I can remember is Little Man. That’s it. But this is such a hit and Cher is a megastar. Still performing so I believe. What a gal.
