I cry! I also try to communicate with that person, and let them know how much I miss them and how much I love them. If I'm unable to do that, I get creative and will paint or write about the person, I feel closer that way.

Thanks, I do cry too and somehow it seems to ease the pain. Too bad I cannot paint like you.

some people might advise you to go out and do something to try to get your mind off of your loved one.i don't think thats good advice.i think it's good to remember them as much as possible.sit down with a picture or a video of them and just try to remember the good times.

miss them even more...keep thinking of the time spent with them
miss them more by recollecting the time already spent with them...and then laughing about the funny moments...and then crying about the fact that the person is not with us any more at this moment :(
And finally divert off thoughts to 1 more channel :P

this may sound silly but I sit down in front of their picture and talk to them. I lost my grandpa and we were very close. I miss having him around because he kept me on the straight and narrow.
My husband thinks I nuts but it really helps me. I know he's listening.

I also believe your grandpa is with you all the time, and if talking to his pic makes you feel good, you should continue doing so even if your husband calls you nuts.

You grieve. It is a natural process, and it takes time to heal somewhat. I'm sorry for your loss.

My gf visits her family twice a yar which is about 2100 miles away from here, and I just about loose my mind every time.I know how much she loves them and how hard it is to be so far away from them for her,so I try to remain sane and ok,lol.I call, I play wih the dog a lot, she misses her too.I try to catch up on correspindance, just stay generally busy.I don't know if ut helps at all,I miss her so much.

I just look at their picture and wish that they were here with me.

With the modern technology, there are so many ways to keep in touch: by phone, by email, text, or yahoo/msn messenger. Keep yourself busy and socialize more, for all you know you may not be meant for each other and you will meet someone new. However if you are really destined for each other, distance is not a barrier. Keep a positive attitude.
