I have been homeschooling my children for 3 years and it has worked out much better for the entire family. There are so many issues in the public schools in recent years that I don't see putting them back in. In the last two weeks, for example, someone has gone into two schools in different parts of the country and killed children there. Not to mention that many kids I have come into contact with in the last couple of years, I would not want my children influenced by. And no, I am not controlling. They are allowed to make their own decisions about most things. Due to being homeschooled, I find they are more mature, with more common sense than a lot of children their ages as well as being very intelligent. It just works for us.

I homeschool - have been for 8 years. It's all my children know. They have great curriculum that teaches values important to our family. They are happy, well socialized, well rounded children. And smart, too!

No...home schooling has it merits, but they miss out on other important social activities that just can't be replaced in a home schooled atmosphere. Children have to learn how to navigate in the real world...that starts day one in kindergarten... Navigating aound your house and family memebers doesn't prepare you for that.

No, I think they need to be with other kids to develop their social skills.

No, I think children needed to go to regular school to learn how to socialize and get along with others.

I'm already doing it with my soon to be three year old, he's very advanced for his age and I thought he shouldn't be bored so everyday we have learning time, he' up to kindergarden level in some subjects.

Absolutely, and we are planning to homeschool when it's time. Socialization is not an issue with most homeschoolers, including us. We have playgroups, moms groups (with associated children's activities), church, homeschool groups, and many other opportunities for our children to socialize with other children their age, children not their age, and adults. Not to mention that my husband and I are both active in the community and have sought to involve our child (and future children) from day one.

I would, because the school system here is not how i want me children to be raised. I would be sure to take them to other places where they can interact with children so taht they get the social side.
