At 13, I started to babysit and clean. At 16, I was working in a shoe store part time after school. After college, I started full time in fashion designing. I am now self employed. I am an unusal artist.

I couldn't wait to leave school, I hated it so as soon as I turned 16 I left and joined the YTS (Youth Training Scheme) where I was taught how to touch type through college and it set me up with office skills which enabled me to go on to be a secretary, that was my first real job. However I did do paper rounds with my dad and I did gardening jobs for neighbours and friends and earnt myself some pocket money that way. I did think about turning it into a business, but no one wants their gardens done in the winter. I stuck to office work.

I was 15 years old and just like you worked on Saturday, my shop was Liptons .. and I was mainly stocking the shelves to start with, but also on the till (the till we had to use was manually operated with a handle at the side .. ) .. and after 10 minutes training was let loose on the bacon slicer and the cooked meats slicer ... that wouldn't be allowed now would it .. and most of the machinery had no guards or safety cut outs ..

I managed to get a summer job during school holidays when I was fouteen. It was in a bakery and I got to eat loads of cream cakes. The money was good, and the cakes were nice, so I wanted my parents to let me stay there. However, they insisted that I go back to college to finish my education and I eventually got a full time job when I was 19 years old.

My first job was at 14/15, not quite sure, cleaning caravans, not an experience I'd like to repeat in a hurry! Have done a few dodgy jobs that I'd rather not think about too much!!!

My first paying job was when I was 16. I had done some volunterring and babysitting before that, but it wasn't until I was 16 that I got my first real job.
It was at Dunkin Donuts. I actually loved the job, once I got used to my clothes alwasy smelling like donuts. I started out as a cashier and worked my way up to donut maker.
I love the regualrs that always came in. I was only there for a year because I went off to college and now the store no longer exists.
I have good memories of it.
