Yes, I have dream't and still am dreaming of going pro. I'm only 16 still have a chance. But I think all kids when they are young want to go pro in a sport. If go pro in a sport it will be either baseball or football. And make the big bucks. Play for the Tigers if I go pro in Baseball. If I go pro in Football I would go like to play for the Patriots.

When I was much younger, I was into gymnastics heavy. I was going to go into the olymics, but my mom didn't want me too. So, now it is out of the question.

That is sad that your mom didn't want to you continue on to that level. My daughter (who's almost 5) is in gymnastics and loves it. I know that if she continues and has that dream we will be supporting her 100%

Gymnastic is hard to do on a pro-level. Not only do you need to be on the rather smaller side vertically, but you have to keep competing with some serious injuries sometimes. But, if that is someone's dream, I say go for it!

When I was in HS, I wanted to play in the NBA! Now looking back I really had no shot, as I wasn't all that great on my team as I was a starter, but not the best player on the team... I guess if I could pick a professional sport now it would be golf! I'd love to do all the traveling that they do and get to play some amazing courses all while making money! Yes, that would be the life!

Well you have to get better at bowling firt if you want to be a professional athlete. I once dreamt of being an Olympic Swimmer, sadly my parents do not support the fact that I love swimming, they don't believe that being an athlete can be a good future, they like use to be professionals in the corporate world, yeah as if that worked for them. Well it's too late to go back now, but if ever my kid would want to be a professional athlete I'll support him the best I can, but he have to finish college too.

I would not put it as a dream as in those dreams of being a millionaire but i have thought about it on some occasions even if it is just a fleeting moment.
Usually, it is when i have done well in my sports (basketball and golf) and my friends were commenting that i should be in the national team.
The money is real good but if you are a half past six kind of professional athlete then it would not be wise to consider this career as it last only for a few years.
Rarely do athletes perform after 35 years old and you have to be looking for another job.

Yes I did dream about being a professional footballer when I was in childhood. I wish that I can represent my country and bring Malaysia to the World Cup event long long time ago!...
But my level only at school level, =P
And I don't care about that as long as I enjoy football !

I have never dreamt of being a professional athlete but my husband has. He played High School Football and still to this day dreams of playing both college and professional football. There is no way that he can due to ankle problems and back problems. But he has his dreams!

I always loved running and I thought maybe someday I'll do it as a profession. But, somthing happened and I've changed my mind. I decided to do it as a hobbie instead. With practice, I'm sure you can master bowling and maybe someday you'll be a pro bowler.

Oh yeah I'm always dreaming!
When I was a child I was into gymnastic!
I trained almost everyday and I was always dreaming of winning the Olympic Games!
Now it's too late but it's still nice dreaming sometimes!
Plus I support the real athletes!

That is great that you want to be a pro basketball player and I wish you all the luck and hope to see you on tv for one of the pro teams. :-) Good words that people should not give up, especially at a younger age. I am considered too old to be playing. :-)

I wanted to be a basketball player first, but as most WNBA players only earn $30,000, that faded fast. However, I would like to be a pro-tennis player. I started playing too late to play in tournaments like the U.S. Open but I will settle on USTA pro-status so I can give lessons. :) One day...

I dreamed to be a pro sprinter before but never went that far maybe got I got lazy. I shifted to basketball but all I can do is crossover, run, run and run fast. Well, outrunning opponents wouldnt do that much since I am only 5'7". But still I guess I would always play ball as long as I want.
