Hi dihearted.. Currently, I am using avira antivir personal classic edition. I have been using this software for almost two years. Since then, I have never experienced any problems at all with regards to the overall function and system performance of my machine. Otherwise, I am so impressed and satisfied with its performance. It updates on a regular basis and this can be scheduled at your most convenient time. It is very light on resources and does not use a lot of memory. Hence, does not slow down your computer. It detects and deletes rootkits, worms, or viruses. This can be downloaded free at their official website at www.free-av.com
Hope this would help to you in any way!
Have a great day and God speed!

Well i have been using McAfee from the word go and i never had any problem using McAfee in any whatsoever way.I think McAfee is the best anti virus if you are a frequent internet user.Norton is good too but it is really cumbersome to do scanning with Norton anti virus.

i'm using Avast anti virus right now, it's good enough for me. you can get that from avast.com.
but there's another antivirus you can use, like AVG and NOD32.
all of them can detect virus, trojan & worm.
don't forget to update the database though.

I used to use norton antivirus but it started giving problem so i had to stop using it.best antivirus i used ever is AVG-Antivirus. its more secure to use AVG although i also used Norton and Mcafee and many more. but now i am satisfied with the AVG antivirus. its absolutely free for home users and the updates are quite easily updated without so much of time. and it gives the high performance for my computer. Many a times when i am sharing something in my LAN, AVG immediately detects which type of virus is this and completey wipe out the viruses. So i would like to prefer AVG antivirus and also suggest you to use avg instead of any other antivirus.

I prefer to use Kaspersky Anti virus, it's the best one i ever used. Although it's not free, but i think better to spend some cash for the best security. I've tried some other antivirus but my computer infected sometimes, but when i use Kaspersky, thanks God i never format my computer for 7 months.

Symantec the best. Norton is a legend in this field and that shields the p.c well . you get updates free and i am using it for aquite a long time and is satisfied with the package.
