Do you still write or recieve letters via snail mail?
Or the only thing that the postman drops in are the bills?
Technology today is really advanced and I wonder if there are still people that take time to write a letter using a pen and a paper and snail mail it instead of writing an e-mail.
It is a given fact that e-mailing is definitely a no fuss process as compared to snail mailing.. but then, won't you feel extra special when you recieve letters via snail mail in this age and time?

I actually prefer snail mail for conversing with loved ones. I enjoy being able to see the person's handwriting and the invisible bond of knowing that that person actually touched the paper. It seems so much more personal and thoughtful. I also don't get anything but the usual "junk mail" so seeing a letter in my mailbox written especially for me is a huge day brightener.

I think as the technology has grown so much most of them thinks that writing an letter will be waisting of time and nothing else. But for me there is a big difference in writing a letter and an e mail. Writing an e mail could be more convenient and easy but writing an letter is much more pleasing.

It would be surprizing for me to receive a snail mail letter. In our modern day today,we dont expect to have snail mail letter because everything is in a fast pace. Sometimes,we dont need to write and send it thru any types of mailing because we can call our loved ones and talk to them heart to heart over the phone. There is a descripancy when you send a letter than hearing someone thru phone. Yes you can express your feelings well through your letter but its still best to talk on the phone because you will know how the sentence was delivered and letting out all your feelings and emotions. Reader of the letter sometimes misunderstood what you are saying on your letter because it doesnt show any emotions. Have you had experience sending a letter and they misunderstood what you were saying on the letter? I've experienced that, that i have to call them to clarify things.

Maybe not thru letters but thru text messaging, sometimes you don't get the feeling behind the words and you tend to misinterpret.. But yeah talking to the phone is still better since you can hear the person's voice, but ocassionaly recieving letters thru mail is just heart warming..

i consider email as my way to connect with friends from afar and doing business communication.i use my phone to connect with my friends within my reach and i write notes and letters to people and friends if i want it to be personal.i love doing it the old ways, it is telling the person you send it to that you took time and effort and have about it for a while to do it , it would be very special.

I actually wrote a letter two weeks ago to a friend of mine that moved away. She doesn't have email and the time difference is really a lot now, so it's difficult to know when is a good time to call. It really felt strange writing a letter, I think the last one I wrote was probably at least ten years ago, lol. So now I'm anxiously waiting to see if she is going to write me back, haha

That's lovely to hear the people who never wrote letters for years would simply write one day for their friends. Surely it would require effort and give it personal touch which would be appreciated by the reciver.

E-mail is a no-fuss process, but you are right...people do feel special when they get letters in the mail, the good old-fashioned way! I correspond with work associates, employers, and other professionals through e-mail. Otherwise, I make an effort to write letters, thank you cards, invitations, or holiday greetings the snail mail way. I know I love getting mail, and it is so much more personal then opening up your inbox. Putting a stamp on an envelope isnt hard, and it is so work the smile that results when a loved one opens up a personalized letter.

Hi, I still write to some of my friends and my mother! Well she is 73 so doesn't have a pc. It is always great to receive a letter and so much more personal don't you think? It is a shame as the art of letter writing has gone out of the window in favour of text (sms) messaging and emailing. I pity those who have to write letters for job applications!

I find if I take the trouble to write letters, I'll probably get one back. I have a few friends who still value "snail mail," there is something special about receiving a hand-written letter in the mail. I know I sure love it. So I try to do it myself.

Receiving snail mail is really great, i mean usually what we receive from the mail is those nasty bills that stress you out, I barely home though I still wonder why my electric bill is so expensive...anyway...back to the topic.I used to have a penpal until she got tired writing and yeah me too...not really tired but I'm caught up with the things that is happening with my life.I wish I receive a personal mail soon that would be really lovely...^_^

I do still use snail mail. I have a very good friend who is currently in prison and that is the only way to communicate except during visitation. I think email is good for some communication and especially if you need to communicate right away. I do like going to the mailbox and finding a letter there from a friend. It seems that when someone takes the time to actually sit down and write it makes the correspondence more personal.

I love using snail mail - i know e-mail is cheaper & quicker but nothing beats going out to the mail box & knowing someone has taken the time to write you a letter.
I Pen Pal as a hobby & wouldn't ever give it up.
It's true, technology has gone crazy of late but i dunno, i always find hand written letters to be way more personal so i prefer to do it that way myself.
I do have a couple of e-pals but only coz they cant afford the international postage which is fine - but if i had to choose, it'd be snail mail for me!

oh, i do! i love writing letters. i think it's more personal to write letters with your own handwriting and send them via the post office. it may take a while for the receiver to get my mails, but it's something i always look forward to.

Yes, I write the letter via snail mail. Of cause, I am doing it more rare now, e-mail is faster, but I like to write the letters and especially to receive them. The snail letters tells more about person character and mood, in my opinion (I mean a caligraphy, a hand writing style)then e-mail and they are more 'warm' (don't know is it word undenstandable LOL) I also love to get them from my penpals and relatives (especially from my granny) much. It is something really different. I am always happy to find a letter in my post box. And if I want to do a surprrise to my e-friends I am writing a snail letter with any gift or post card and believe me the reaction is always great.

I agree that technology is really advanced. I would probably rather recieve letters via snail mail, however it is rare. Because of things such as msn messenger and hotmail and other types of email services, that's how everyone keeps in touch. Very few are willing to now take the time to physically write a letter and have to stamp it and send it out. Email is so much quicker and easier. The only people I know who send snail mail are old. Lol and I don't mean that in a bad or disrespectful way...basically just that's how it is.

Of course I still use snail mail. All bills mainly come through snail mail, although some I will pay online. Other things like government letters all come through the mail.
However when it comes to writing simple little letters then I will use email if that person has one, otherwise it's snail mail.

If I invite people to a birthday party or I have cards to send out I still use snail mail because it's just more personal. Also, I will write my grandmother because she doesn't use the computer. I will also write to my brother because he can't get access to a computer. Other than that, I always use email. It's so much more convenient and it's instant gratification. People see it right away.
