I think we will have a common language that we will all speak and it is likely to be a form of American English. However I still think there will be other languages elsewhere still spoken just not most of the time.

I do hope there will be a common form of communication - especially for politicians and the like! But English is spoken so badly these days [unlike 50 years ago] that I doubt it will be recogniseable in 1000 years - and that's only assuming we haven't destroyed the Earth and all that's on it by then! But if we are all sub aqua beings - what with all that water rising - we'll probably all be speaking some kind of 'fish talk' glug glug blubble blubble etc. I have to keep correcting my grandchildren that 'lickle' [they mean small] should be pronounced 'little'!! happy mylot day.

I do not agree with you.About 1.4 billion people speak Chinese in the world.So I think Chinese will be the only language left in the world if possible.
