Everyone will make mistakes. Suppose you are a teacher and you find you have made a mistake, will you admit it to your students? Do you think it will do harm to your authority as a teacher?

I will still admit that I've made a mistakes in front of my students. It could be better to stand corrected than to finf it later that your students have noticed that you have teach them the wrong way.It is not good that your students will distrust you because they will tend not to listen you anymore.Honesty is the best policy indeed.

There is nothing wrong with admitting your mistakes regardless of who you are. Even a President can readily admit whatever wrongdoings he/she had done unto others. By admitting our mistakes, we proof that we acknowledge it wholeheartedly and sincerely apologize. If the teacher will do the same thing, her stands as authority will not diminish but more so, the students will admire her for the act of humility.

First, you should pray that you never make mistakes - especially since you are a teacher. But if you do so unfortunately make mistakes, then the right and best thing to do in my opinion is to admit it candidly. It will be one bad and embarrassing experience no doubt, but if you don't admit your mistake when it is so obvious, you will lose even more authority and respect than if you did.

I am also a chinese teachr. admitting mistake sometimes is embarassing, if it is of common sense. so we had better think twice before class begins. on the other hand admitting mistake shows your courage, so it is not bad thing if you do not often make mistakes. do you think so?

I often find in a really good class that the students will ask questions that challenge what I had previously believed to be the correct answer. In those situations its really fantastic when a pupil can prove me wrong, it proves we are both learning and questioning.

YOU KNOW THERE IS NO HARM IS ADMITTING YOUR MISTAKE TO YOUR STUDENT. BUT IT MUST BE SAID IN A WAY WHEREIN YOUR AUTHORITY WILL NOT BE TOTALLY LOST. LIKE: "THANK YOU FOR CORRECTING ME, MY DEAR STUDENT, I ADMIRE A STUDENT LIKE YOU WHO WOULD BE CONCERNED IS TRYING TO KNOW THE CORRECT FACTS." I WILL MAKE MY STUDENT UNDERSTAND THAT NOBODY IS PERFECT AND THAT ADMITTING A MISTKAE MAKES A MAN MORE RESPECTBALE AT THE SAME TIME APPRECIATING THE PERSON WHO CARES TO CORRECT. PLUS I WILL ALSO TELL HIM THAT I LIKE STUDENTS LIKE HIM WHO ARE VERY ATTENTIVE IN MY CLASS!" aDMITTING YOUR MISTAKE IS A SIGN OF HUMILITY. AND THAT IS MY PRINCIPLE: "humility begets respect"

That's a good topic to discuss.I do make mistakes now and then though I try not to. I admit I am wrong and say sorry to my students the moment I find the mistake myself. Sometimes my students point out my mistakes, then I usually first praise the student by saying,"What a smart boy!" or "How clever a girl! You're helping me make progress." Then I correct the mistake and go on with my class. Usually, the students remember better if I make a mistake. I don't think I lose face or lost my authority.
