ronnalee That sounds terrible. Glad you mother accepts and likes your husband, though. And you're absolutely right, at the end of the day you're married to your husband, it was your choice, and no one know better than you if you made the right decision.

ronnalee Indeed, but my mother is thankfully quite progressive and open-minded and less ignorant than most. My partner sees the situation for what it is, but I think maybe I need to communicate better with my mother. Thanks for the response.

ronnalee Sorry to hear you didn't get the award! It doesn't seem fair, obviously you can't control being ill and it could have happened to anyone, so I don't see how that was a valid reason to not consider you for the award. Perhaps they did it to discourage people...
