Which do you prefer? I personally do both. I tend to scrub all my dishes with soap and water BEOFRE I put them in the dishwasher. I always imagine bits of food and sauces being sprayed around by the dishwasher if I don't 'clean'...

AbbyGreenhill @SandyElise It dullls the finish and makes them look old way before their time. Besides, I have enough dishes to only run the dishwaster every other day, but I only have enough pots/pans for one day.
