thebeing i see that a bunch of people use kingston. hm... in my nikon manual, kingston is not an approved brand, and one could lose the warranty for the camera for using kingston memory card. that is stupid. i have a kingston miniSD card which i used with an SDadapter...

thebeing well, i didn't dropped mine. and it wasn't old. i was quite new, meaning it was purchased about 1 month before it failed me. i am quite careful with my gear.

hey, guys! got my d90 a couple of days ago. I upgraded from the nikon d70, and the changes are WOW! Unquestionable better image quality, the 3inches LCD instead of 1.8inches is really something, and the way it works with my lenses...

thebeing thanks for the comment! since then, i got another toy. i got myself a slik pro 330DX tripod, as i plan to go to a trip in the mountains next week. can't wait to use it. it looks and feels solid, and i hope it will serve me for many years to come.

I would like to do some portraits of my kids before school starts but I am having and issue deciding on a background. What do you use? I tried a couple of our sheets but they are all a little to floral or plaid and not working.

thebeing yup, goin' out in a park and having some fun while taking some photos would be the best ideea. You could shoot something more formal and even something more candid in the park. Just let your kids play and have the time of their life, and capture some of those...

thebeing hello! The colour is from lighting and background. In post production i only enhanced the saturation a bit, sharpened it a bit and cleaned up the photo (my sensor is quite dusty, and having the fact that i shot this photo at f/8, i had quite a few dust spots...

thebeing yup, i did take the picture. I wouldn't quite call it special lighting, just off camera flash, and playing around with the properties of light. I'm glad that you find my photo "useful". :) Cheers!

hey, guys! here's a photo from an experiment i did yesterday... I tried to photograph water dropping into a bowl filled with water... Took about 200 shots, but only 3 were good:( That's how it is with subjects that last a blink of...

thebeing 2 shots, long exposure (about 15 seconds, so i got that silk-water effect), then bound the images together. The image is better seen on my blog, as mylot resized it and the quality loss is quite high :(
