thefreemind Replacements have already been developed. Really quite effective ones. The problem is, the oil companies buy the alternative and all of its rights as soon as it becomes a possibility. Everyone has their price.

thefreemind Dawkins is actually a 6! (As am I) He believes that religion is detrimental to society also, but he also acknowledges that it is scientifically impossible to disprove God. He does consider God to be 'highly improbable', though.

thefreemind No, someone WROTE DOWN that Jesus commanded us to love one another. That doesn't make it true. I could write down that God wants us to eat half a brick every Tuesday, that doesn't make it true. God (if it exists) is not the problem. Dogma is.

thefreemind No-one chooses to become an addict. That's the definition of addiction: A compulsion that drives you to do something regardless of all rational thought. It's not a choice, it's something that's developed into a need.
