I need a really good anti-virus for my son's new computer - anybody got any suggestions? He is only 8 so not too clued up about sites that could pose a potential risk and he loves games..... Thanks :-)

volcanoman I have been using NOD32 for about 3 years and it has worked like a champ! Also may want to get Xsoft anti-spyware.

volcanoman IE 7 is a little better but Firefox beats them both. I only use IE 7 because a couple of the internet sites I go to won't work with Firefox.

volcanoman I have been looking at this and the only way I can see is you would have to get some sort of video capture device for your computer, then record them to your computer. From there you could burn them to a DVD, but you may need decryption software such as AnyDVD...

as subject, are you backup your harddrisk regulary or not ? I'm always backup my hardrisk , but not so regulary, I usually backing it up when my harddisk space getting low, so I can get the freespace back.

volcanoman Definitely Google. They do return many of the results because they are using very similar technologies but the other big ones (like MSN, Yahoo, etc) seem to be more driven towards commercial and retail results.

volcanoman Typically these problems come from an add-on, such as Yahoo toolbar, weather toolbars, etc. See if you have any of these installed and if so, go to "Add/Remove Programs" and remove them. If this does not fix the problem, I would suggest uninstalling it then...

volcanoman Vista is nice but it doesn't work with alot of programs still. I still prefer XP but i am testing a couple of the new versions of Linux. They are easier to use and a nicer looking interface than the old versions.

volcanoman The basic idea of uniforms is that you do not have kids picking on other kids and separation of kids (such as gangs and cliques) so they would not be distracted from their studies. But children have found other avenues for this such as ipods and cell phones....
