Has anyone tried one of those electronic Ab Muscle Stimulators that they advertise on TV. My grandson has been wanting one of these for his birthday ( he will be 15). Does anyone know if they work or not? They cost around $100...

Does anyone have a good recipe for barbeque chicken that doesn't require baking for a long time in the oven. It is so hot here that I'm trying to avoid using the oven if possible. Thanks!

Wilbet28 Thanks for your reply. My mother used to bake chicken covered with barbecue sauce in the oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours and it was very tender and good. But it is too hot to run the oven for an hour or two so I will probably try the stove-top method.

Wilbet28 Thanks for the information, Hatley. I haven't seen any racoons in the yard, but they are probably around since we are near a wooded area. I have seen groundhogs in the yard though -- they have eaten some of my flowers. I will check for the hornworms, too

Wilbet28 That's a good idea. I haven't tried the wire cages yet, but I think that I will get some. I've also decided to move them to my porch -- they won't get quite as much sun there, but I don't think that the animals will come up on the porch to eat them.

Wilbet28 The water bottle idea might work for our cats--they definitely don't like water. We bought a couple of toy water pistols last year for the grandchildren and I'll try them out when the cats get near the tree.

Wilbet28 Thanks for your reply. I hadn't heard the term "cat weather" before but it is a good name for it. My 2 cats were certainly lazy all summer and spent most of their time sleeping. They didn't seem to like the hot weather very much.

Wilbet28 You are lucky to have a husband who reads instructions. He is probably really good at fixing things and putting things together (unlike mine). My husband has a lot of good qualities but repairing things at home isn't one of them.
