MadOvid I think many of your reasons are probably true, I will ad one more: a far too literal translation of the Bible. I believe that Pope John Paul said that what science can do for religion is to free it from superstition.

MadOvid Who says perfection is a from of balance? Evil by its very nature is imperfect. A truly divine being would not be evil.
