I am a fan of martials arts, one of the reasons I came to live in Japan. And I have been practicing quite a few for most of my life. Many should be appreciated as "Arts" and not seen as something that would help you in a real...

Yes, like Bruce Lee said. A fighting style should not be based on fixed forms. "You put water into the cup, the water becomes the cup, water can flow and it can crash - be the water my friend".

While Taekwondo looks fancy, I personally believe it's one of the least practical martial arts out there. Simply due to the fact that its aroun 95% kick based. It does't matter how fast your kicks are, they can't complete with hand speed, which would be mostly...

I would actualy prefer to spend more time with my family than be on the internet in the evenings. I suppose I should time things better. e.g. internet before and after work and breaks etc. I don't think anybodt is really watching anyway.

Understood. My managers know I am always getting my work done. I'm in the office an hour before the official start time, to get things done. But I still quickly switch my screen over when someone comes by, just in case.

Even when I was 18 my mother used to tell me I was too old to play games!?! I'm 35 now and my wife is trying to say a similar thing. Is there really an age where people should put down the controller?

I think the Nintendo Wii is good for that. Bringing the family together. Even my 18 months old daugher likes standing on the wii board LOL. Holding her sholders I actually got the hi-score on the skiing game.

Well my daughter likes to come into the room and watch but I think she is too young to see such violence. I wonder what the consoles will be like when I am 56???

The Xbox 360 has come out with a motion senor system similar to the Wii but not controller is necessary. Who thinks this is actually be practical and how accurate can it be?

Personally I don't think the new 360 system can work very accurately without some form of tracking system e.g. some gloves or a special suit which I think is rather impractical.

fruity loops is quite good, I also have it especially as it has VSTs, but I find because the software is quite small, only 1Gb, it doesn't have sampled instruments e.g. Grand Piano - you would have to buy a VST pluggin for the real instruments sounds.

I try to speak English all the time and introduce vocab. We'll see how it goes. In your case you seem to have an English speaking household and then Spanish outdoors. Im sure she'll pick it up soon. Thanks.
