I've joined both sites and they are pretty much similar. I believe Mybloglog has the biggest community with all the very famous bloggers but the people at Blogcatalog are more active and responsive, there is more interaction...

RiCOCHET you you're right there, plus in forums, you have targeted visitors, because you can post on a thread within your niche and interest... and if you have the same interest, more like likely they will stick to your blog, and eventually creates a "word of mouth"...
