How many of you take your pets to the veterinarian to have their teeth/mouth cleaned?

RuneAmok My last cat had her teeth cleaned perhaps twice. I didn't brush them or do anything for her in that respect.
The two I have now - I don't brush their teeth either, but I do give them raw chicken necks. That should keep them pretty clean, although I'm sure...

I worried about my new cat because he still won't come out from under the bed to eat, drink or try to get to know me so I called my local vet for some advice. I was told to just let him stay there and not to try to coax him out....

I read that cats should be given distilled water, not tap water. Tap water is polluted and has the potential to cause internal problems in cats, or so that author argues.
